We’ve brought you oh-so-many fast car drag races, so we thought it was time to turn our hand to some of the slowest cars money can buy!
We’ve got our hands on the slowest new car you can buy, the all-electric Citroen Ami, and it’s facing off against the Suzuki Jimny Commercial, the Kia Picanto and the Toyota Aygo X!
So let’s see mini maestros stack up. Starting with the Ami, it’s equipped with a single electric motor that delivers an almighty 8hp and 40Nm of torque. One of these will set you back around £7,600, and there are no prizes for guessing that it’s the lightest car here, weighing in at 471kg. Alongside it we have the Suzuki Jimny Commercial. It’s powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine which can put down 101hp and 130Nm. It’s the heaviest car here, at 1,100kg, and one of these new costs around £20,000.
Next up it’s the Kia Picanto, which houses a 1-litre 3-cylinder engine under the bonnet. This can release 67hp and 96Nm, and it tips the scales at 933kg. It’s the second cheapest car in this line-up, at £13,000. Then finally we have the Aygo X. It’s packing a 1.3-litre 3-cylinder under the bonnet which can put down 72hp and 93Nm. It weighs in at 945kg, and the price starts from around £16,000.

The fact that both the front and rear panels are the same abd both doors are the same that is why they are hinged differently. I think even the side panels are the same. The only thing on it not the same is the floor and the roof lol. It's simply a brilliant piece of thinking simply and is so spacios inside too for such a small car.

Old 1987 Daihatsu charade 1.0 turbo would utterly mug any current 1.0 turbo with ease and give them and absolute tanking in the corners. They basically felt like you were driving a set of turbo'd font wheels. You forgot a car was attached

​@@philipcrossley1279 - Neither the C1 or 108 seem to have a turbo engine. They appear to be 1 litre naturally aspirated units like in the Aygo in this video. I've got a 1 litre turbo engine in my car and that seems to have no issues with hills. In fact it's far better than the old 1.3 naturally aspirated car I used to have.

I used to own a picanto 2017. Those things are quick little buggers around the town. Beautiful car she was. I think around 130kph it's like you hit a wall. It's a fun experience though.

Maybe it's because of the 1.0L engine. I had a second gen Picanto with a 1.25L engine, and I managed to get it to 160km/h. It felt quite comfortable actually at that speed.

I have a 1.2 2020 model. I can hit 160 fairly easily on the freeway. Highest I took it was 200 kmph on a downhill stretch

Mine was a 1.0L, so perhaps that must've been the case. It was an absolute joy to just drive around the city. But out of the city on hill county, you rev it and wonder where the hell did the horses and the torque run of too

It wouldn't change anything the car can already go much faster than that but it's speed limited at 45km/h because it's a driver licence free car that you can drive at 14 in France

I am driving a Kia Picanto with exactly the same specs from past two years, i bet this car is much more fun to drive than an Aygo, a vauxhall corsa and any car of the same specs. Trust me this car is like a rocket in the pocket, cheap to maintain, no drama, full of fun. I dont know why it is so under rated.. but i bet this car is much better than a Aygo, fiat 500, vax corsa, renault cleo, or any other car of same specs. I personally have beaten the mentioned cars in London so please dont argue with me 😒
