These are ungrateful sons. A mother's love is unconditional but a husband's and son's love is condition, the husband cheat and the son's abandoned their mother. It's sad. All these ladies commenting bad about the son here are hypocrites. If you are a nyab that accept your mother in law, you are a wonderful person. You make life easy for your husband. But in most cases it’s the nyab that doesn’t want to take in the mother in law. When this is the case, it put the son in a really tough situation. You choose your mom, you loose your wife, you choose your wife, you loose your mom. You ladies have no ideas how stressful it is to get caught in the middle. When a family is in this situation, the nyab play the biggest role. So don’t be too judgmental when you don’t know all the facts. As for this mom, I really deeply feel sorry and saddened. No mom should have to go through what she went through.

Those who have never taken care of an elderly person especially someone who has mental issues can’t and shouldn’t judge. Every case is different. It’s mentally, emotionally and physically draining on the care taker. Sometimes it’s not about love but doing what’s best for the person and family as a whole. Another point is that I’ve seen parents value sons and give them wwayy too much credit. Everyone is equal and should be treated as such.

It’s sad. Because of our culture beliefs, parents have high hopes and rely on their sons so much. Parents would give and leave everything to the sons just because they are the sons. That’s not always true, but most of the time it’s the nyab that do not want the mother in law. In this case the son are left with two choices. Take your mom in and loss the wife and pay child support. Trust me, it’s not solely the son not wanting to take their mom in. It depends on situation, if the elder is bedridden n need total care, u need professional help. But looks like your mom was going senile n depression. Worst scenario, your mom stay w bro n wonders off, get lost, or hit by car, nv know……in that case R u sisters gonna be mad at bro n nyab too? It’s easy to stay on sideline n complain. Your mom was not happy w her mistreatment living w your bro, but yet your mom is not happy @nursing home too. It’s hard to deal w elders. Can’t satisfy them.
