That's what I hated about her, though... her feelings for him in this case are strictly subjective. She was with Victor but used his affection for her to get what she wanted.

It’s amazing how they didn’t know much about each other, yet still fell so deeply in love. Then, in the present, they learn each other’s secrets, and still love each other. That’s how you know they’re soulmates.
