Hi Reza! I have used a few tutorials on power apps but yours are by far the best, thank you! I did as you have done in this app but when I submit my data it doesn’t submit for the two fields that come from the second Lists. Is there a way around that?

Those who have issue while writing on second dropdown Filter('TicketCategoryType, Department= drpDept.Selected.Results).'Request type' try writing "Value" instead of "Results"

I applied the cascading filtering as instructed in the video above, but the end users complain about the fact that the dropdowns do not have a search functionality (I have over 300 choices to choose from...) I love your videos! Do you have one that shows how to make check boxes that when selected, opens another fillable field? For example, if I want to ask the participant if they have another request..they check yes and a box opens…

Yes possible. Beauty of data cards in a form control is they can be changed per your needs.

Thank you Reza for another great tutorial video. I was able to create the two-level cascade successfully. Is there a way to cascade subsequent levels? My customer's app has 5 levels they wish to choose. Thanks for your immeasurable help.

5 level cascading is a lot :) You would need to keep filtering the subsequent dropdown with the previous selection. There is a way and it depends on the scenario. Its not about 5 levels. Its more about how the data is structured in the backend.

These videos are great! Is there a way to save a record that is based on the "Department" selection. For example, choosing "IT" from the dropdown and saving it to a SharePoint "IT" List, choosing "Marketing" to a SharePoint "Marketing" List, etc...?

You could use the Patch function to do that. Switch(dropdown.selected.value, “marketing”, patch to marketing list, “it”, patch to it list)

I have used the Microsoft lists template. The colors you see are the SharePoint column formatting options which come as part of those templates. You can format columns, views and forms with those features. Check - kzbin.info/aero/PLTyFh-qDKAiE7C_2lVNAPzgHXsBykG0Tf

Hi Reza, excellent video. I successfully created Cascading Dropdowns in PowerApps with your fluent and strong explanation. However, I have a question. I created another application on another screen with this method. But, how can I integrate this drop-down mechanism into my resource list in Microsoft List, which I use as a resource in the application? Can I use this mechanism while entering data there?

Great find. Is there a maximum limit on how many rows can be on SharePoint list? I am trying to create cascade cobmo box with country and city. It seems I am getting maxed out at ~450 rows. Is there any alternative solution? Thank you.

I believe its 500 which is the delegation limit. Alternate solution would be to use a gallery so user can select the value.

You could by using filter function on items property of dropdown. Seems a very specific use case though. I have no references on this.

Hello Reza, this video is so so helpful! Thank you so much. I came across an issue with cascading dropdowns for which I have 2 dropdowns referencing the same data base (ex. the Department in your example), in which one of the cascading dropdowns is working fine since it is exactly the Request type as you showed, but the other cascading dropdown is like the Request type but you can select multiple answers and I cannot figure it out out to solve my error. Do you know if this is an easy fix and/or how to?

@@NarnawareSunil I have 4 level cascading in my PowerApp. Level 1 is Site, Level 2 is Building, Level 3 is Line, Level 4 is Details. All in a SharePoint Table called "Master Site Equipment List". For Site, Items = Choices('Master Site Equipment List'.Site). For Building, Items = Sort(Distinct(Filter('Master Site Equipment List',Site.Value = drpSite.Selected.Value),Building),Result,Ascending). For Line, Items = Sort(Distinct(Filter('Master Site Equipment List',Building = drpBuilding.Selected.Result),Line),Result,Ascending). For Details, Items = Sort(Distinct(Filter('Master Site Equipment List',Line = drpLine.Selected.Result),Details),Result,Ascending). These formulas also sort the results in ascending order.

Hey Reza, thanks so much for the tutorial. I had a doubt though, is the excel file that you uploaded dynamic. Because I wanted to something similar but which reflects changes in the Poweapps dropdown according to changes in my excel file. If it does not, could you please help me on how to do it . I did this video so long ago - that I do not remember the specifics. You can connect to excel that's stored in SharePoint as well I believe. Try exploring that option.

@@RezaDorrani Sure. I thought I could save a modern Sharepoint List as a template by exporting to an Excel Table and then importing while creating a new List. This actually works to a certain extent except for Multiple Choice formatting. This breaks upon import.

Hi Reza.. Thanks for sharing this video. Its really helpful. I am trying to used combo box instead of Dropdowns as I need multiple options to be selected. I can select multiple options but in my SharePoint list only the last selected options is saved. I am not sure why? Are you able to help me on this?

Can you do a cascade from the sharepoint list or it can only be done via powerapps? If its only in powerapps, can it be ran via a browser? Thank you

Via a sharepoint list - out if the box there is no option. Can be done using spfx or power apps. There are sp custom form based power apps.

Great video Reza. I tried doing this for my app but I have a problem My cascading SharePoint list is composed by two columns: The Title (text) and a column called Type (choice) However, the SharePoint list that I use for my app has two choice columns: Type and Tool, and I think that the column Tool isn't updating since the data format is different. Reza, would I be able to use this method to connect to my other apps? What I want to do is have a page with a single drop down with a selection of my apps in it and a title of “What do you want to do” so the user can choose from the multiple lists/spreadsheets we have in the team scattered about, they only have to go to one place.

This works fine when putting our columns on a separate screen. The cascade is working fine as we pull in several lists that form our cascade. As soon as these fields are put into the form we have, it ceases to work. Is there anything special we need to do to make this work within our form?

Hello Reza great video I really enjoyed it. I have an error I can't seem to resolve as I am creating multiple cascading drop downs 3 in total. The error populates on the 2nd and 3rd drop down in my filter function when my 1st drop is blank it says my expression "System eq null" is not supported. This occurs in both my 2nd and 3rd drop downs in the Items functions and it is telling me it is related to the Filter portion. Looking for some help on resolving this.

The dropdown list control has its items property coming from my SharePoint list. With the dropdown selected, in the properties pane on the right hand side you should get the option to select the Value.

But In ComboBox1 has Region Name & ComboBox2 has Cities Name & In back end data i am using share point list & both column has Type Choice. So, I want to create cascade between these 2 ComboBoxes. Like; If i select Specific Region Name in ComboxBox1 so automatically the ComboBox2 shows only related Region Cites Name.
