how does gm=I_D/V_GS? In a recent class I was taught that gm=2*I_D/V_OV=K_N*V_OV. The two models are equivalent if V_GS=0.5*V_OV, but how is that even possible if V_OV=V_GS-V_TH, assuming all quantities are positive?

I do not understand the Req2 derivation. That is not the correct equation for 2 resistances in parallel (product over sum), nor is he adding it in series (would be 1/gm2 + 1/gmb2).
