I just picked up well saved from the scrap heep. So far so good. The engine turns over good after I pulled the starter. It was a bit dry on the shaft. They clipped the wires that go behind the flywheel. I've read where people say use engine motor oil. Now to remove the deck. Probly won't be using that feature. All tires still have the little nubs . and not dry rotted or cracked. At least they removed the coil wire at the coil with at wrench and the starter. Missing wires to the solenoid. Its a 444. Well beast . I could tell its a beast. I've saving a few lately. A JD 318. An fm925 front mower. I'm up to about 15 various. And I save the trans axles and tires if the tires are good. Way too many projects. Thanks for posting your video on the subject that I was wondering.

@@ReelAmericanOutdoors Good thing I checked the unit out on line again. He's missing the entire mule drive (top part of the mower). Thanks for saving me a 6 hour drive. Why do all the case ingersoll tractors have to me in Michigan lol

@@jimbob4692 yep! Seems like there are a ton in Michigan. We are lucky to be in Wisconsin where there are also a ton but they go so quick for top dollar. Keep looking on facebook/Craigslist! You'll find one!

@@ReelAmericanOutdoors every day, twice a day I check. Still have not found one on CL. Frustrating is a good word. Purchased a used JD 425 and let's just say I won't be purchasing another JD in my life time. LOL. Warmer days ahead. Thanks for your reply.

@@ReelAmericanOutdoors picked up a 446 in Racine yesterday, deck and snowblower need some work but I can't complain about the 4 hour round trip. Tractor, mower, blade, snowblower, chains and wheel weights for 2K. Ya ever dealt with Barnaveld Implements for parts? That's where the guy I purchased the tractor from gets his parts.
@roberthogsett974 жыл бұрын
Never saw it done that way before. I usually unpin the deck from the mule drive, slide it out, then remove the snap-fast pins, and re-pin the deck to it outside of the tractor. My mule drive is still cotter pinned up front.

Sorry to hear that man! Throws the belt? As in the belt just comes off? Without seeing it I would start with checking if its the right belt size I believe its a C23359 part number. Second I would check the belt tension....on the front mounting bracket there is an adjust crank you can adjust the belt tension from here. There is a spring right behind it that will start to stretch when you are tightening the belt which a good rule of thumb is you want to stretch that spring enough where you can fit a nickle inside. Let me know how it goes!

I haven't got a first mow in this year yet and there is one for sale in the area. I am guessing not waist high. Perhaps if i go slow? I am in Western NY and has been very wet this year.
