So case control is always retrospective study?

Still not clear.. I mean case control study & retrospective cohort study both seem similar. In both cases, exposure & outcome have happened, both of them look into the past. How are they different?

It's all about where you started and ended In case control, you interview [started] diseased people 🩻[lung cancer] and non diseased people and asked about weather they smoked or not🚭. In Retrospective cohort, you collected datas from a hospital, in the case sheet of patients you saw smoking history 🚬, [started with risk factor], then called them ☎️ and asked them now they have lung cancer 🫁 cancer or not [ended at disease]. Just look at where you stared and ended that's all❤
