Several Pforzheim companies are producing new watches using NOS German movements from movement makers that used to be active in their city until the 1970s or so. Limes Uhren made some using automatic PUW movements. It looks like these Circula watches are using NOS manual winding HW movements. Nice!

The precista prs9 used the nos as1130 which had to be stripped,cleaned and reassembled.Oiling takes place during the assembly process,this was a short run of production as there were not that many movements.

What kind of articles do you write and in what type of magazine or newspaper? Favorite Writers (s) 2.- Where does your fondness for sartorial come from? 3.- What was your first watch? You bought it or they gave it to you. Do you still have it? 4.- What is the most difficult Grail to get, at least for you, what would you like to have in your watch collection? 5.- Do you collect more than watches? 6.-What is your height? in meters. Alright Tim, you wanted questions 😊 a) I would like to know how to read a timegrapher. Not so much the numbers (beat error etc) but especially how to read the lines and the dots that show up during the reading b) which setting (or part) in a watch is the thing that decides on the beats per hour (18000, 21600, 28800 etc)? And how can that bph be so exact on a timegrapher? Keep up the good work with your vids, greatings from 🇸🇪 to 🇩🇪

Yes Tim, Im curious about amplitude? What is considered a "good" number? Is there a relationship between BPH & amplitude? Lasltly how does the beat error number work? Loved the outro Tim!! That guitar is beautiful. I especially like the tail piece and bridge very nice. Who made it? At 1st the head stock looked like an Ovation but I saw it was a tuner. I'm building my 2nd guitar. The 1st was a cigar box. This new one is wooden box that held 3 bottles of Italian wine. A gift from a buddys retirement from the Seal teams. I know your talking watches so this is comparing Apples and Anvils.Mexico produced the VW Beetle up till 05 I may be off year wise but that's what came to mind when you mentioned Someone buying the machinery to produce something Imagine a brand new 05 Super Beetle. I'd like to import some that are old enough. Iv owned 13 So easy to keep going . There's a place in California you can buy a brand new Delorian. They have Bou Coups NOS parts and can build one from the frame up all new with parts from the 80s. Ok here is my question sorry just such an interesting subject of old being new. Ha a lady gets a facelift. Is that NOS lmao. But back in the day VW gave a gold watch to anyone owning Beetle that went 500,000 miles with out a mechanical break down. The story goes they had to stop because of the amount of half a million mile beetles. So many it was killing them to buy all the watches. Does anyone know. What type of watch did they award the people? I'd love to have one.

But there's something about that Kent It's tone from it's single coils is richer than the other two with humbuckers. Its so close to SRVs #1 his 1st wife he called it. But his tone people try and get they spend hundreds on this pedal and that amp Peggy Sue has it With no effects. Idk why Buddy Holley came to mind when I got it and played but I named her Peggy Sue. I noticed some little dents on the back of the it. Being 50+ years it's expected. But upon angling it I realized it's words indented into the wood. You know the same gage as Suspension bridge cables. So I grabbed some. Hell I'd string up and lift the guitar by the E.A.D. strings to get them to stretch enough to even think about tuning the bloody thing.Lord!! Bending them made my fingers feel like week one after every waking spare minute I was practicing. Ohh!!! I just traded a Misfit Tee and 10 bucks for a bag of watches. I have the 69 Timex up and going it's in damn good tick. So is the 72 and 74. Not NOS but worn only sparingly The 68 Timex Automatic Works great to. Someone just over wound them. I blew them out and oiled the shafts. Then set them under a 100watt bulb. It heats and expands the metal enough to let the mainspring let go just enough to let the escapement cycle and sure enough they are going. I also got a Seiko Cocktail idk looks like it was used as a door stop. But the 7006- 2 movement is ticking away after I took it out of that case that looks like a car crash. And the best one out of the lot. Is a Vulcain It's not a Cricket. I have to see about it. It looks 60s Era. The hair spring came out of its keeper but isn't FUBARED. Soon as my new Movement holder and screw sticks get in I will rehang it and see. I eased the mainspring down. It winds and all seems serviceable. @AaroKeipi5 жыл бұрын
Getting an old watch serviced can be a very expensive undertaking. If you're not sure you want to keep it, it's best to sell it in its current state since you will never recoup the money for the service. The only exception is if you can find someone (generally a retired watchmaker) who services watches at a very discounted rate. I was lucky enough to find someone who charges about 20% of the normal going rate, so I send him all of my vintage watches. But if I didn't have him, I wouldn't collect old watches.

Thanks for the subscription. My statement there was a bit misleading. I said 400 to 500 and was referring to Euro. 400 Euro might be a little strict, indeed, but 500 Euros are 580 USD. And that's in my eyes a suitable price for this product.

Ah yes, the NOS label. It's the Swiss label of vintage watches. One thing is that a NOS is a far more appropriate term for a massively produced soviet watch, than in it is for an also industrially produced swiss watch. Many soviet watches have been produced by millions and millions, and sold in many many countries ( inside and outside USSR ) for decades. And they were, for the vast majority, very affordable, or cheap. My father used to buy them for nothing, and it was sold basically everywhere, between bread, sugar and cameras. Good old USSR style. For that reason, a NOS soviet watch is not a crazy thing at all. But careful, they are going up in prices and attracted a lot of dishonest sellers online.

@CasebackWatches5 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not correct. Companies like PUW may have bought single components from Switzerland, but certainly not everything. Especially PUW was a manufacturer of basic movements like ETA, which they sold to other companies. And companies as Lange have made inhouse movements since the beginning of their existence. The entire region around Glashütte was famous for inhouse movements in direct competition with Switzerland.

@@CasebackWatches Yes, but the majority of parts were not made in Germany, I know because I am a watchmaker, and have been for almost 50years. So to say the watches were made in Germany is false. The only parts that were made were the dials, which they then had their names put on them. cases were made in Germany and England to fit the swiss movements they wanted, but nothing else.
