As much of a surprise as Will Ferrell’s Eurovision Song Contest movie? Just joking-on a more serious note how did the anonymous host go with his pronunciation of Icelandic words? His English pronunciation and grammar can be a bit dodgy (‘hos-TEL’ is a favorite, along with ‘arriving to’ and ‘da murder’).
@sunna84763 жыл бұрын
@@rogerpattube Haha, the movie was a nice surprise as well! His pronunciation on Icelandic names was okay, he clearly did his best and that's what matters, it's understandable but not really close to the actual pronunciation. Erla for example had a very american accent to it, we say it differently. Of course i don't expect a whole lot of non native Icelanders to be able to pronounce everything perfectly, that would be unreasonable haha..

Exactly. I havent met a foreigner who can pronounce my name AT ALL, so its unreasonable to expect that someone who speaks a very remotely related language to be able to sound like a local. My native language for example isnt even indoeuropean, so how on earth could an english speaker be able to pronounce it? Lets just accept that some shit cannot be done, and an attempt is just as good.

Since i discovered this channel ive neglected my duties & pastimes, every one is existing on microwave meals, no housework done! All my emails gmails abcmails have gone for a burton! Im just so engrossed in the best cases of criminal or .mysterious happenings ive heard! Every one is painstakingly researched, every detail brought to the fore, Even the harrowing details are presented but with care & only the details relevant to the case This channel honestly is the best ive heard, that's the honest truth. Im very impressed btw, by the precise pronounciation of the Icelandic names & places. Either the narrator has an Icelandic background in his Aussie personage or someone who knows the pronounciation Has coached him in the names etc.its a hard language to master esp the pronounciation That's pure dedication to professionalism if thats the case. Most narrators make a proper hash of saying names & places even a 7 yr old could say correctly. This is a Bloody Damn Brilliant Channel, i kid you not! Listen to just one, any one case at random & you'll be hooked like me ROCK ON CASEFILES

@@Jolenesmart1980 thank you for replying, i didn't work for any particular company but for an independant agency who supplied greeting card companies which specialised in birthday, Christmas Condolences, 21st birthdays, bon voyages, leaving employment, exam success, marriage sympathy, engagements even venturing into new areas such as happy divorce, happy living together, cards for cheating spouses ( honestly!) Anything goes these days & if there's an occasion then you can bet theres a card for it! Lol So i worked kinda freelance for the agency & also thinking up wild, crazy wierd events which a card could be created & no word of a lie, the crazier the occasion the bigger seller the card. Mainly these cards & verses were aimed at the American market ( without naming names, our MD was American & our customer lists were world wide yet our name isnt known outside the industry of Occasion Cards) Im officially retired now but still do some writing work, especially quirky verses abit like the Purple Ronnie series but quirkier) All in good fun although the verses we did for the American market would never have taken off here in Uk. I thought they were hilarious but market research dictated British people prefered traditional cards & verse! Typical! Australia was another country which loved the wierder versed cards & sold well there. If you wanted to get into the business, its best to start with a say, Hallmark cards which is American has its own workshops in Britain or google names on the backs of cards you like but i gotta say, most of versed cards are supplied by agencies as the one i worked for. Its a great job once you get past the boring repetition of creating general birthday, xmas words which can be numbing! This is a great example on why its a bad idea to keep people in solitary confiment basicly indefinitely. There should always be a real human rights group WITH TEETH, with true political power, that would have the right to visit detained people atleast once a week to assess their state of mind and their conditions.

I'm pretty sure the younger one froze to death. Imo the two women who refused to give him a lift were guilty in a sense, but that's that. The other one eas certainly murdered, but instead of investigating, police preferred to torture confessions out of innocents, so… the chances of that being solved are minute.
