It makes me mad that they make it sound like the 2162 was there own header. The truth is that was a Macdon header and thats the reason it was such a fantastic head.I havve a very hard time believing that the 3162 will come anywhere near the previous macdon

Its improved and simpler . Are you in the stone age. Everything on earth can be improved. I know for a fact some of Macdons early headers were, well in need of design changes.

Can you tilt the guard on these headers? Also do they have a spring loaded adapter to aid auto header hight in adaptation to terrain? I haven't been able to run a 3162 yet, but I love my Macdon FD75. In soybeans I have absolutely 0 beans behind the header. You can't get any better than that.

This sounds like a Kroger Macdon header. We have people who ran the 3162 and it he always had the mechanics out. He went and switched to a fd75, the 2162 will be the best header to ever have case ih on it

It looks to me in all the closeups of the cutterbar, in Soybeans, that stainless steel piece is way too deep as they are harvesting an average height soybean and you can see they turn sideways before reel can actually shove them all the way over that stainless transition plate. In short beans i bet 75% of the crop is gonna sit on the cutterbar and eventually fall out.

This is the worst header I have ever had the displeasure of working on. That center gearbox has had a ton of updates. The cutterbar shatters like crazy. The stainless pans make it near impossible in short beans without an air reel. They have updated the float linkage a dozen times as well as several supports . not to mention. It is god offal heavy. Half the combines can get it off the ground if it has the 2 ton transport package. Things like thinner end sheets were changed of an fd75 just as soon as the contract ended. I will take a worn out bent and leaking Macdon before this pos.

these drapers have a terrible design, material sits on the big metal plate, awful in light crops

once you get the crop in the bin you can't get it in the truck. John Deere's unloading mechanism is junk.... So you waste crop dumping it on the ground to fix it. S series fast unload. LOL

600FD draper belts here had a big recall. Even after that,still doesn't work. Belt comes off every time dirt gets under it.
