There's a bunch of good reasons to not use Mutant Mary Jane. And a few, very few, good reasons to use her. Thought I think mainly it comes down to these turning most WR-savvy runners away. The problem is getting Mary Jane into the bunker, when running tsar bomba, Mary Jane will take up about 3 slots of inventory. Which is WAY too much, especially if you're trying to go for the longest survival (imagine 3 main items like food or water, a gun, an axe anything which could change the game, and then not having it and having Mary jane instead.) Mary Jane herself doesn't have basically any upsides other than her mutant counterpart. She pales in comparison to Timmy who outranks her in basically every stat, from scavenging to slot management. In theory, once in the bunker for the first couple of days, you can come across an event where someone is knocking at the door and taking the risk, it could be Mary Jane. But also, it could not be. The event is randomised for every family member you miss, you could've of gotten Ted if you left him, Dolores etcetera. And either way, the event is VERY unlikely from what I know and you shouldn't rely on it happening. Secondly, there are only two entire events in the main game that allow for the possibility for Mutant Mary Jane to appear. That includes the radioactive ooze that leaks, or the mutant spider. If you do not get MMJ on these events, then she basically is just dead meat, as mentioned before Timmy """""outweighs""""" Mary jane in everything and so is just more useful. The percentage for even getting Mutant Mary Jane on these turns range from 0.5-2% from what I know. So unless you want to take the risk and have at it, so be it. Thirdly, even if you are lucky enough to come across the chance to get MMJ. There are still negatives, like the amount of food she eats when in this state. As she doesn't require water, she will eat lots of Soup in order to survive. If you're going for the Longest Survival, this isn't a risk you can take. Even with her buffs, she just isn't optimal for most speedrun-related solutions. As having one less mouth to feed, makes all the difference. TL:DR, food, events that happen, luck, slots.
