She's what we call a real artist. Not anything close to what we've had in the past decade. If a singer can improvise either Jazz or Blues (or any other genre of music, actually) without hurting herself/himself and keep it that natural (just as she does in all videos I've watched so far), she/he's the real deal. All of Haley's Jazz song renditions show me that she's a smart artist. And she can actually take me to New-Orleans with that impressive easyness to deliver something that looks so natural for her. If music makes you want to travel either in time and/or places because of an artist capable of bringing back to life a song, I think she/he succeeded no matter how much attention they get from everyone aroud the world. She definitely does'nt need today's world's type of recognition to succeed. I hope she stays strong and real and hope she she won't settle for poor quality music.

I do truly love little Haley--always have and always will. Her natural vocal quality and innate soulfulness are undeniable. Her sultry lower registers and depth of voice and expression are poetry for me. Witness her bedroom rendition of "Like A Star" by Corinne Bailey Rae here on KZbin when she was practically a child at home. That's innocent, devout aspiration. She has natural talent--punctuation, timing, expression, and voice. For a self-developed young vocalist to present herself so naturally and so fearlessly just moves me. She stumbles slightly at times, but I get the feeling that she has risen so gracefully and naturally without any real help. The fact that she's such a knockout doll baby is just icing on the cake! I don't know Casey yet, but I like them together, and I feel that he also has talent. Their voices do seem to compliment each other. However, there were times when that bass sounded a little sharp to me--or something. Best of luck to both of them.

Loard Merlin, I don’t know if within the month or so you posted your question you have discovered who and what Postmodern Jukebox-aka PMJ-is, but if you haven’t, it’s a sort of loose consortium of musicians gathered together by Scott Bradlee to sing contemporary songs that have been arranged to sound like songs of yesteryear. Haley and Casey are among the musicians who have and still do participate in PMJ. My favorites among the many singers who have appeared are Haley, of course, as well as Morgan James and Arianna Savalas. Many more have worked with Bradlee, including Robin Adele Anderson, who I think is an up-n-comer. They have a KZbin channel and a Facebook page. Check ’em out if you haven’t already.

She's better out of the mundane machine. I believe, if she hadn't met Casey, the pop music engine would have swallowed her up, and we would not have seen this talent. Casey is largely responsible for supporting and encouraging her natural talent. Together with PMJ, they are bringing real music back!
