An awsome way to cut down on wind and road noise on the hardtop in the Coverking top liner it covers the whole inside of the top and gives it a much more finished look

I love these racks. You are a great spokesman for us in the Metalcloak mafia. I would agree these are the best made racks available. I also use another rack that bolts to hard top and love it to. Some people just don’t want to drill their hardtops.

Have seen a few JL and softtop vs hardtop is pretty much the same as with the jk, hardtop almost always better than the softtop. I have the rhinorack system and with the bars alone its terrible noisy and with the tent its actually a lot better.

Great review. Metal Cloak customer Service and quality is awesome. We have a soft top. When you took front to rear trusses off and left the rear hoop on, could you fold down the soft top or did you have to remove the rear hoop?
@Casey250 Жыл бұрын
You need to remove the rear hoop once the trusses are off.

Hi , great roof rack system, One thing mystery to me how which is can the long 20L jerry can fit in the back window section after jerry can carry mount? Why I ask this question is It looks the back pillar of the rack touches and rubs the jerry can. It looks impossible to install extra gas tank. Pls help me to make my decision .

I really wanted this rack for my JKU, but they charge the price of the rack for shipping to me even though I'm 45 minutes from a major international air freight hub.

Your passenger lower cowl light is missing the outside mount screw on the light itself!!!!🤔 I didn't look into it, but I assume you need their bummer to go with it to mount the rear hoop?
@mazevx2451 Жыл бұрын
They have different mounts for different bumpers including the stock bumper

Ya I stripped the screw and replacing it is on my massive 'to do' list. I'm probably going to loose those lights when I add a snorkel.

Hi Casey, dig yer channel and thanx for all the vids. I’m practically yer neighbor (Duvall,WA). I have a 2022 JLUR eco diesel and been struggling with a decision on “which rack” since I got the Jeep. Months ago, I settled on the ARS but then crawfished because I have AEV bumpers front & rear. I spoke with the dude at Mcloak (super cool to talk to) and we ventured that I could probably make it work. For other reasons (long story) I decided against it. So now, after watching yer vid on the backbone rig and other vids, I’m considering that one. It’s apparent to me that it’s not going to be as strong as the ARS. That said, how’s it treating you so far and how much loading are you tasking it with. TIA for your response
@Casey25011 ай бұрын
The backbone isn't as robust ( on paper) and I am a little worried about it's durability after some heavy trails but we will see. The ARS is bullet proof, and survived the Rubicon.
@djonesey58 ай бұрын
Hi Casey. How is the noise, if any, that the rack makes as the vehicle experiences the bumps of the terrain (on or off road)? In other words my question does NOT focus on wind noise, but more the noise of metal parts of the rack creaking as the Wrangler negotiates its terrain. I'd image the rack, with its 2" tubes, has little such noise but I wanted to hear your experiences. Thanks!
@Casey2508 ай бұрын
This rack is a beast. I ran the Rubicon with it and a rtt on top. Only noise it ever makes is after I put it back on I need to go hit some speed bumps to get it to settle and then I tighten it up or it'll squeek. It's been all over the place an never let me down. I'm half considering putting it back on and not using the rhino rack.
@djonesey58 ай бұрын
@@Casey250 Yeah, I've described this rack as the kind that King Kong could pick the JLU up by, shake the vehicle over its head upside down by that rack, and put the whole thing back down tires first---and if laid down gently enough the rack and vehicle might not be the worse for wear! Thanks!

Good info. As a fello Eco owner, how did it do on the Rubicon? What came of the dash message? Will you skid the DEF tank? I went with Artec's skid but MORE steel front and trans. Would you take a stock JLURD on the Rubicon?
@Casey250 Жыл бұрын
It did great on the Rubicon. I had a skid in the def tank but it was hitting my track bar bracket so I took it off. I'd take a stock Rubicon in the Rubicon if it had 35s and I'd add solid after market sliders.

Casey, I bet you didn't know the softtop is actually quieter than the hard top on the highway.. Go ahead and test it :) you will be surprised. the material from the softtop muffles much better than a thing piece of fiberglass. Also it keeps temperature better as well.. Edit even with those little fabric pieces you glued onto the hardtop
@Casey250 Жыл бұрын
I disagree but the soft top on its own is very quiet in the JL I've put a lot of miles on with it with the rack off. They did a good job designing it.
@fastfed Жыл бұрын
Test it. Buy a temp gauge and db device. Would be a great video
@metalcloak Жыл бұрын
We've noticed that it also boils down to which soft top. On my personal TJ, I have the top level Bestop Squareback with Black Diamond material with lots of adjustments and it's super quiet. The stock softops are a wee bit more sloppy and noisy, especially those with the softer materials.
@fastfed Жыл бұрын
@@metalcloak have the cheaper top in my 2021, and im 5-7db's quieter then my buddies hard top on the hwy @ 70mph. I think this is because even though its a softtop, its still a material as the hard top is just a thin piece of fiberglass. I saw a video online somewhere about the temp. difference and same concept, material will insulate more then thin fiberglass EDIT, that video was actually from Bestop lol, just watched it again

Hey Casey, as I watch this video again I have an off topic request of you. If you are not already on top of this, please have your forehead just right of center examined. Perhaps what's there has always been, or a result of physical contact/abrasion, but you are fair skinned (I say objectively, I'm not judging) and I want to make sure nothing is going on there that needs to be medically addressed.
