@@Shifterplatani Not that I know of, I've heard that you want to have a flag for the sand dunes area around Sand Hollow or you will get fined but that was about it, we didn't see any registration or pay boxes. Between Warner Valley and Hurricane there is some great riding in the St. George area, and I'm sure there is more that we didn't hit.

Casey do you prefer Moab or St. John now that you have been to both places?
@caseyb385 жыл бұрын
They're both great places. St. George seems a little more relaxed on where you can ride so there are a lot of trails we just didn't know where to go after the first three days. One of the guys we were with had GPS tracks to follow but he had to leave early so the last two days we just hit up different spots in Warner Valley. The town of St. George is nicer as far as getting parts, groceries, places to eat, ect. and it's less expensive than Moab (and easier to travel into). I personally know Moab fairly well now so I know more riding options there so that makes me lean towards Moab a little. I think if I had to pick one to go to the first time I would say Moab, its well mapped and more scenic but if you've already been there and want to change it up St. George is an awesome area.

Thanks for the info. I am from Northern Idaho and a group of us have been going on a yearly trip to Moab since 2012 around the end of February first of March. We have rode 5 Miles of Hell, Pritchett Canyon, Kane's Creak, Behind the Rocks, Moab Rim, Cliffhanger, Poison Spider, Rusty Nail, Golden Spike, Metal Masher, Porcupine Rim, Fins & Things, Slick Rock, Hells Revenge, Steel Bender, Sovereign Trail and I may have missed a few. Pritchett Canyon, Behind the Rocks, Sovereign, Steel Bender and the entire Poison Spider area is what we try to ride every year. 2 years ago was our first time on 5 Miles of Hell and we tried to ride it this year but there was way to much snow and could not see the paint on the trail. Do you have any other trails that you have ridden that you would suggest as a must ride in Moab?

@@stigum79 That is pretty much what my group does when we go down there. There is a place called Chimney Rock that is a little north west of Green River that we checked out a few years ago that seems like it has a lot of potential. We didn't have any GPS tracks for it and kind of went off a map on Avenza but we got a little lost. I would say its worth checking out, maybe try to find some GPS tracks or start early, take some maps and gas and go haha. I would say St. George is definitely worth checking out though, we even thought about doing both (St. George and then Moab) but we already drive 17 hours to get there and didn't want to add more milage.
