I remember the 2nd time I ever flew in a plane having a similar flight experience where we flew into a thunder storm and 100km winds, they aborted landing twice and landed on the third try, it was the scariest flight ever, especially as like your Mum explained you are dropping in altitude getting ready to land and then the plane suddenly takes off again. Looks like a fabulous holiday, enjoy!

I've been to Corfu. It's because of the winds off the islands it makes it so hard to land. I agree it was the scariest flight of my life as well! Love you from the U.S.!
