I think Clonie should have waited for the chips to go in, it wasn't a call until she said so clearly or pushed the chips in. Clonie thought she was way ahead. Seemed a loose call from Vanessa unless she had a good read on Clonie.

Amazing how many people think clonie should move in on the turn. Are any of you paying attention to the pot size? You don't just move in willy nilly when you have two pair. Also why would we want to fold out worse hands? Don't we make money by getting worse hands to commit more money, not less? It was a standard suckout that usually won't happen. If we have two pair and are pretty sure our opponent has top pair, we don't want our opponent to fold! wtf?

Yeah, Clonie slowplayed herself into oblivion there. There are so many scare cards that can hit on the turn and wreck her hand. I agree with the check-raise to about 4,000. It's a good idea to overbet the pot when out of position. Then she could just push all in on the turn. If Vanessa had flopped a straight or had a set or something, well these things happen.

i had a simular situation last week in a big cash game. i had A3, flopped A and Rivered 3, the other player had 2 pair. the difference was, i went all in after the river and won a lot. the 2 pair played it wrong too, didnt push me out before the river, tried to get more out of me. lol

correct. when you put in volume this is a LOSING play by vanessa and a winning play by clonie. poker isnt about one hand.its about making decisions that over the course of thousands of hands will win you more money than you lose. its like AA vs 22. AA is going to lose to 22 20% of the time. thats fine because AA will win 80% of the time. so over the course of say 1k hands you will win 800 of them.

Wrong. Pushing on the turn will only get her called by a better hand. Or perhaps AK. But everything else folds. This is results-oriented thinking at its finest. If you have 2-pair and think the other player has just one pair, you do NOT want to push them out. You want to keep making bets that will get called by 1 pair. Getting drawn out on occasionally is just a risk you have to be willing to take.

She's got the money -- it isn't a loan in the sense that she's broke. She just doesn't have $25K on her or in her account at that casino. The only player she asks is Mike, who is also wearing Full Tilt Poker gear: Mike and Clonie already have a business relationship of some sort. That's why her tone to him is so business-like. But it's the floor man who quickly approves her request for $25K. You'd be surprised how many big chips at casinos are being played on house credit.

The check raise on the flop is fine, if you are clonie you are hoping that vanessa is sitting with a weak ace like A 10. The flop was a rainbow so while it's ambitious, slow playing the flop is not TERRIBLE, although with another player behind her a raise is a safer bet. Clonie made a goos bet on the turn she knew where she stood, I think vanessa made a pretty loose call.

Horrible, Horrible call by vanessa on the turn....can't believe how bad of a move that is. She got lucky on the river though, shows how you don't have to play better than your opponent to win. Only reason to EVER call there with that hand is if you are 100 procent sure that your opponent thinks you have air and is trying to bluff you out of the pot...but no good player does that alot out of position.

I dunno I think they all played this kinda bad except the guy with A2, he wants the blinds but it was dangerous for him with a weak kicker. Vanessa calls a raise with a weak kicker so you never know where you are after flop and might just be throwing money for nothing. Yes, Clonie was complaining then betting so she coulda had KQ or A10 or even A5. I dunno even if another 5 came or the 4 it is a tough call Vanessa but more often than not you will lose this hand.
