Why not make a “In the bank” placeholder? And just track it on the paper. Or make it say like “$____ in the bank” and that way you can customize it to say the amount you need it to be.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Just a 'Funds in bank' placeholder, and then refer to the tracker to know how much you have left. Its then easy to repeat for other folders without needing to make lots of placeholders for random amounts.

Hi Desiree! Aya Plans has a tracker that has a section for what’s in the bank and what’s in the envelope. You can make something like that yourself, I did and it works perfectly. I also use placeholders with the tracker just because I like how they look in the envelope. This was a fun video to watch as they all are!!❤❤

The whole goal is to save and be debt free, and you share your journey with us. Haters are just unhappy with their life most times, so they need to make others miserable. I always wondered about the "fully funded" placeholder because it seems confusing once you use some of the money. But this is what I came up with while listening to you...when you set a goal for a category, that is the amount you want to spend on that category. So you decided $250 was the amount you wanted to spend on holiday decor. You hit $250 so it is now fully funded. And now you spend that $250 until it is gone. $45 for Halloween decor, maybe $22 for Thanksgiving plates, etc. Once it is gone, then you remove the fully funded placeholder and start saving again for next year's holiday decor. That might mean tweaking the amount or even creating separate envelopes for different holidays. Just a thought. 🙂

If you don’t plan on adding anymore money to Holiday Decor, then technically it is still ‘Fully Funded’. You could leave the Place Holder in there and just record what you spend. Once you decide to start feeding it again, remove the Fully Funded Place Holder.

Once I put the money back in the bank with a bank holder, I would spend out of the account and do exactly what you did. My point is to at least know what I have and how much I am spending, so as long as you keep track of it, don't worry about it. 😊

Id pull the money from the bank because it's the start of the season for buying the things you love! Instead of having to make the decision every week I'd rather have the cash there for the ease of routine. And then at the start of the new year, put some back in the bank. I know $200 in a HYSA will technically earn interest but having it at home will just make the weekly unstuffings easier for you. I'm all about making decisions to relieve future me of having to make one 🤷‍♀️

Holiday decor envelope, I would do place holder if possible but for sure make a note on the tracker. But would not take the cash out of the bank. Next I would try to make the envelope fully funded again

Technically, your holiday decor is still fully funded. You give it $250 a year and probably won’t need to add before January if you stay on track. I would leave the placeholder in the envelope.

Since the holidays are coming, you are going to keep spending from that envelope. I would either put placeholders to update your current balance - so $205 in placeholder bills and transfer from savings to checking when you buy something Or pull all of it out in cash and just use cash now

for your situation about the fully funded envelope, I always just pull the leftover money out of my account to be able to track it, most of the time I'm on my way ti the bank anyway so in my head it's easier to just pull it out then

I have placeholder monies for all denominations for money in bank. So I would leave money in saves, except $45, then break rest in my placeholder until it’s set back to fully. Or you can just write amount on a post it note.

You could do a placeholder that said something like " pending" which would clue you to further investigate or make changes to increase amount in next paycheck to increase it to " fully funded" again. ⚾️

I would just put a notecard or sticky note into the decor envelope and if you can re fund it by Septemver then just keep the money in the bank

Seems to me Holiday Decor is still fully funded as that is your YEARLY budget. It is like Go Wild. You plan how much to spend, but as you spend that leaves less for the rest of the annual holiday decor purchases. Otherwise you don't actually have an annual budget if once you spend some you need to put more money in that envelope. I would leave the Fully Funded until after Christmas, but track on your tracker. Subtract from tracker as you switch from savings to checking to pay for purchases.
