WOW! I was going to purchase one of these covers for my Mercedes. But after watching this video and seeing how incredibly complex and involved it is I said no way. I'm glad I found this video BEFORE I made the purchase.
@sven_the_giant Жыл бұрын
It's a lot easier than you think. This guy did the most complex way possible lmao. Check some other videos out. I just did my Chevy Silverado and I did it in an afternoon over the weekend. You definitely don't need to dismount the steering wheel.

How is the material holding up after almost a year? Have oils and sweat degraded the areas that you hold on to most?
@CashedOutCars Жыл бұрын
It’s still doing quite well! Mild staining on the white stitching, but nothing major and I haven’t tried to clean it. The material is still in great shape

Id love to see a video for this process on a 2nd Gen (2005-2015) Nissan Xterra! Is removing the airbag and steering wheel really necessary? I have this crazy fear something will bump the wrong way and the airbag will explode in my face.

Nope, keep the wheel in the car. That’s what 90% of ppl do, this dude just did it WAY more complicated than you should.

@CashedOutCars8 ай бұрын
That’s something I haven’t tried, I’d imagine it’d be okay. You may have to carefully use some adhesive removal though. It’s worth a test on a scrap piece of material

@chadgeissler45442 жыл бұрын
No, Don’t remove the old leather! I did it on my first wheel and the cover was loose. I had to find another wheel because east takes the thickness of the original leather into account when the make the cover.

Ive noticed every single East Detailing demo is always on a simple wheel without any leather wings. These covers look nice, but the one I got for my Type-R is cut too loose, the thread gets so twisted after a few passes the thread knots up. I regret buying from them, and it really sucks because theyre expensive.
