I was raised on Roosevelt Island. I was part of the original group of children who moved there with their families in the mid to late 70s. I lived there until the late 90s. I moved from 555 to Stuyvesant Town around 95. It's a beautiful place to live. If I ever moved back to the city, I'd consider living there again. BTW, thanks for the tour.

At last, a semi-large kitchen. Also, first apartment I've seen where the window frames aren't black. Odd to call the master bath a bath and I half. When you said 2 1/2 bathrooms, I thought of the 1/2 bath being a toilet and sink. So after getting so very excited about how gorgeous this apartment was, I came back to earth and realized how, in so many areas of the country, it would be considered average. I’d put a dinette by the window bump to enjoy the view while having a meal. The master bedroom is a true one. Nice closets and the split bathroom is really good. A work table by the window with the view will make working at home relaxing. Love the building and its amenities and the park. Dealing with fibromyalgia on a daily basis I have to say hands down this unit is my NUMBER ONE! With the subway stop one block away even I could walk with ease to the building! The view from every window is so PHENOMENAL it looks like a painting! OMG! The bridge, sky tram (friend I've known for many decades visits NY regularly from Seattle, after I sent vid to him he said on his next visit in summer of 21' he has to experience that tram!) and the general feel of the area feels more like a neighborhood than most parts of the city or burbs, for someone who hasn't ever been to NY I know quite a lot about the city and state from books, vids, friends & relatives always making vay-kay plans there and since I've been watching your vids I feel almost like a resident! Hesitant to make the quantum leap from Denver ( and I just love the mile high and would always want a place here even if the opportunity arises to live in the big apple) cause a pirate's ransom is required to live there and in the area you choose! In the mile high you have more choices to live in she-she areas and not always have to pay cost prohibitive rental rates! The unit has a GREAT kitchen, its compact but doesn't feel cramped, HOORAY TWO BATHTUBS IN UNIT!! Master suite extra nice with the shower separate from tub altogether ! Flooring is excellent and the finishes in kitchen, especially that tall cabinet next to fridge, the abundance of drawers are very well thought out also and that living room is almost large as what you would see in a house! The park and walking path on the water would be so much dam fun to ride my bike on a clear warm day with a friend!! Only place I've seen on your vids that give the view a run for it's money is the high rise bldg on 90th and west end ave but I would still choose roosevelt island due to proximity of Manhattan, transportation, park, and the friendly feel of area
@CashJordan4 жыл бұрын

@@CashJordan yes the view is what sells this place even though at time of filming it was just for rent-. Roo Island is like a private island. It's clean AF, and people who live there are self-conscious about leaving trash behind and are civilized so it's almost self-policing. There's Public Safety Officers patrolling all the time even in blizzard conditions and there's no construction noise at all. The _best_ zip code in Manhattan.

Roosevelt Island is a cool place to live. It’s like living in a park. The only drawback can be transit. Weekend subway can be tricky. Some weekends we don’t have Manhattan bound trains. That said, there is the Tram (amazing views), and the East River Ferry. I’ve lived on the Island for 12 years. Anytime I consider moving, I don’t, because it’s quiet and calm. Please my unit (1bedroom) is a great size - full size appliances-in unit W/D - bedroom large enough for a Cali-King size bed. I know because I have a California King. Very similar to this unit.

Even when I worked at the UN, I never got around to taking the tram across to Rosevelt Island. It looks really beautiful there. That apartment is way outside my price range, of course. But I've never heard of a one-and-a-half bathroom. Usually a half bath is a powder room, just a toilet and a sink. But a bathroom with a tub *and* a shower is unique. Manhattan is just a short tram ride away, and likewise Queens (my son and his wife live in Astoria). I saw a lot of families with children playing in the park, meaning the whole area has a "family" vibe.

Double bar closet and niche to the right for long dresses or winter coats. I totally love this apt! Joggers could have beautiful views while out getting exercise. I guess if I had any questions is where do you grocery shop and how do you get groceries home? Is it one of those out of the way places so you have to bring groceries home a little every day when coming home from work or have them delivered? Is the building pet friendly and is there a dog park on the island? Great apt, great price, great view! Make it your home!

You're so right about that. I remember years ago I would ride out to Long Island on the LIRR and could actually find a seat and I wouldn't have to rush to grab a seat but it feels like after 2006 people started heading out towards Long Island rapidly but I also noticed that's around the time the city was pushing gentrification and offering people money to leave so they can knock down buildings for luxury buildings. Around 2009 I had my landlord offer me $100K to leave, I said hell no. I'm in a rent stabilized and rent control building lol. I'm currently in a 3 bedroom apartment paying $600 but utilities are separate lol. $100k gets me nothing in NYC, not even a down payment in my area.
