@herro signs She was betrayed as well. Spectre/Quantum threatened her with killing her boyfriend, if she wouldn't cooperate, which can be seen in a QoS. It is like M said at the ending of Casino Royale - she made a deal to save him (Bond), but she knew she was going to her end.

I will never ever forget witnessing this scene for the first time in the cinema. There was no Popcorn munching or Cola slurping or even silent whispers audible in the entire room. Every single person was absolutely silent and stared at the screen right up to seeing Bond's heartbroken realisation that he can't bring Vesper back to life. This was the moment that an older lady a few rows back started to whimper. She obviously struggled and it took her a minute to contain herself. I did not dare to look back and watch her cry, but I saw her face later when we left the cinema.

The one thing that I love about Casino Royale is that after Le Chiffre’s death the movie transitions from an action theme to a romance theme with Bond and Vesper. Only to be followed by suspense in which another villain in the series kills Vesper, even though Vesper knew her death was coming soon. Truly a perfect movie.

Absolutely outstanding acting by Daniel Craig from 03:26 onwards. Goes from seething rage, to attempting to process the situation and what just happened to being utterly broken by Vesper's death. Even though she betrayed him, he completely loved her regardless. He is SO convincing here and he does it all without saying any words, it's truly incredible. It's all in the eyes.

Vesper's death was more sadder than Tracy's death from OHMSS. Her death really wrecked Bond very much and for me I think that this scene represents Bond's vulnerability and it made him more human after all. Daniel Craig and Eva Green have made a wonderful performances here. I really liked it. I liked the way how Vesper's arc has been written starting from her chemistry between Bond until her tragic death. I feel very bad for Bond in this scene. I can really see the sorrow, the pain and the sadness in his eyes after failing to revive Vesper and her death will always be a nightmare to him. It's kinda Shakespearean though.

Although its already more than 15 years, this is classic. Vesper will remains the best bond girl for me, she have the power to make bond lost his mind and soul. We can see that through bond reaction, he just lost control of himself through his face and eyes. Vesper is his emotions and soul. Madeleine might fill the empty glass but its not full like vesper did. Throughout the end of the Danny's bond arc, i can still feel james dont mind sacrificing himself for Madeline and his daughter because to him his time of existence is already long due, part of his emotions and soul already died with vesper. Like he said earlier in NTTD, he misses her. That's not something that u said when u want to let go or forget something. That kind of feeling is not something that you can replace, its permanently entrench inside the heart. He try to hate her the rest of his life, but truth be told he love her more than he can imagine, thus uttering the word i miss you and ask for her forgiveness not because he's going to let her go, nope... Its because he admitted to his defeat and guilt of trying to hate her for the last 15 years. Daniel admitted that they tired to do next sequel which nom related to vesper but they failed miserably, its always comes back to vesper until the end of the arc. The ghost of vesper lynd will always be with james kindling his heart when he feels alone until his death. Hahaha... What a love story

Vesper Lynd was James' true love and her death would become the staple event for the remainder of this timeline's subsequent movies. She was a drop dead gorgeous woman, already doomed to die at their first meeting. Speaking for myself, I must admit that she was by far my personal best Bond girl of them all. Her existence in all the movies has been haunting both James and us, the audience, for over a decade now.

Just watched the new Bond film today, it was great! Lots of details paid homage to the previous James Bond films and actors: 1. The famous James Bond gunbarrel sequence in the beginning of the movie. 2. James Bond swim suit similar to the great Sean Connery. 3. The evolving James Bond car, watch it and you’ll see it chances throughout the film, also great use and movie time for the car, didn’t have hydraulic seats though. 4. Some bits reminded me/had similar feeling to Pierce Brosnan’s Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies, spoilers: the halo jump using a ship, the ship wreckage, the whole island and looking like the Stealth ship, the whole British ships and not wanting to cause international incident/news. 5. Villain’s eyeball, similar to the famous villain shoe. 6. Bond’s watch again has useful features. 7. Homage to the old “M” Judi Dench. 8. Two 00s, remember Goldeneye had 006 and 007. 9. Vesper Lynd story. 10. List goes on.. movie paid great homage to the James Bond legacy, and it was a great but also sad finale for Daniel Craig’s James Bond. “James Bond will return” though

It took me a while to get why Vesper didn't want Bond to save her and opted to let herself drown other than maybe because she was meant to die as part of the script. But after I thought about it, I realized now why and it is a testament of her love for him. She knew if she was to live that she will be Bond's greatest weakness. Someone Bond is willing to do anything for. She knew the strength and capacity of their love that she ultimately decided it could only end well if she's gone. That it would be the best option. Hence giving us a very emotional satisfying end.

Vesper is my favourite Bond Girl and her impact on Bond and his life is why. She broke down his defences and softened him only to harden him harder then he ever was in her betrayal and death. Eva Green was incredible in this film, utterly stunning with amazing chemistry with Craig from the moment they meet, she's unlike any other Bond Girl and challages Bond like no other . You can easily buy James love for her and why the James Bond we typically know is born from her death and betrayal.

The intense emotion and acting created here by Daniel Craig and Eva Green is just untouchable. very real, very visceral - you can feel his utter devastation at her death despite the fact she had betrayed him. Bond loved Vesper so deeply, and I think being a secret agent it was the farthest he had allowed any woman to enter his heart. So when she died and the circumstances of it, something inside Bond broke forever. Broke never to be repaired by any other woman again and this cements his emotional veneer towards all women from that day henceforth. I like the way Daniel Craig is able to, without saying a word or a scream, the moment he realises Vesper is dead - and in his desperation and unbelief he suddenly drops her body onto the platform, moves away from it, his glance away from looking at her in that moment - bcos he just cannot believe she is dead. Then turns back to look at her body, his eyes seem to get deeper blue with every deep stroke of his heart forever. Awesome.

I watched this movie when I was 10 and that scene traumitizes me even now. There can be no better explanation to why bond is the way he is other then vesper's betrayel and death. He didn't let anyone in after that in the movies (up until swann which he did let in altough they didn't develop it 1/100 as well and at the depth they did here), and saw women as nothing but play things not because he was sexist or anything like that, it was because he could never take off his shell and stop the act, in fear of experiencing such a tragedy again. He sort of numbed himself.

Spoilers for no time to die . . . . Looking at this tragedy in light of the latest and also final bond film, it does feel less tragic and traumatizing then it did before, because bond finally succeeded moving on from this event and was able to forgive vesper and not let this tragedy further dictate his behaviour and his actions in a destructive manner ( at least after the five year gap, it was clear he abandoned swann after he thought she betrayed him because it was too close to home and he couldn't let the vesper case repeat itself). He finally opened himself to a partner and was able to connect again and take off his shell, and he got what he wanted which was a family, which is why, altough sad, I think he didn't die unfullfiled and was at peace with his death, knowing he had a wife and daughter who loved him, and that he was finally able to be himself again. Which imo gives the craig era a full arch that is developed perfectly. We saw him in the first film totally honest and open, then in quantum and skyfall closed off and in shell, and spectre and nttd are a doulogy that reflect his journey of finally opening again and moving on. Perfect storytelling and it makes craig's bond the most complex and most compelling out of all bonds, and that solitifies him as the best one for me.

Great scene... It's amazing how people have finally gotten to love Craig as Bond. I can still remember when the role was open and people didn't give Daniel Craig a chance, especially me. I had hated the role he played in "Road to Perdition" but here I am saying otherwise... No time to die did not just blow my mind, but I have finally conceded to the fact that Daniel Craig is the perfect blonde Bond! Will it also suffice to say that we have a new dOuble Oh 7even, and that she's female?

The death of Vesper Lynd played by Casino Royale 2006 broke the heart, mind and soul of James Bond played by Daniel Craig and James love for Vesper changed him forever and Vesper loved James so much that she rather die than live with betraying him and it is fact that James has never gotten over Vesper and she was the love of his life and James was the love of Vesper's life too.

A sad ending for Vesper and Bond’s first true love and a sad beginning for Bond becoming the agent we all know Somewhere in the background Oberhauser is laughing maniacally; it makes sense given what he tells Bond in Spectre “Or did you think it was mere coincidence that all the women in your life ended up dead? It was me, James. It was always me…the author of your pain.”

I agree that Bond and Madeleine don't have the foundations of a romance but I think it's more because Spectre set them up as non-romantic, like Quantum of Solace did with Bond and Camille. So when that suddenly changed so heavily in No Time to Die, it didn't work.
