What is the difference between the ap 470 and the px 870? And what is better?

In general, 870 has only one set of piano samples (470 has samples of two different pianos), and 470 has slightly better speaker system and bigger in size (looks more like a traditional piano). 870 on the other hand is more compact and has a very small footprint. Overall, 470 is better of course, but you should always check pianos in store. There is nothing worse than after purchasing piano blindly in internet, you set it up and realize that despite all it's great features you simply don't like how it sounds.

I wondered the same question and now I have ap-470. Samples are excellent and speakers provide definately enough volume for anything. Only thing I am not 100% satistied are the keys which bounce a bit. I like yamaha keys better which I have at home. However, that is matter of opinion so definately go to music store and play everything at least some hours to get feeling which one you like.

Buy the Yamaha. I bought a Casio ap470 9 months ago and it stopped working 2 days ago. An 1800 dollar piece of junk.
