Sounds awesome! I'm surprised at how smooth the resonance sounds.

Excellent Demo, I used to have a CZ-5000 (and 101) that I loved and used to program the heck out of, but sold it when I was broke- then I bought one again- and sold when I I went to Soft Synths- Now I have it again because I missed it an I will NEVER get rid of it. The CZ series was really underrated by all those folks who the the DX 7 was the be all end all in synths then came the "ROMplers" and now it's all about old analogs but The CZ still sounds unique and has low end the doesn't quit. LOVE the Galaxy sound nice use of the "LFO" errrr Vibrato!

The first 20 seconds really sound like a Moog synthesizer (almost like a Moog Taurus in this case). Not bad for a digital synth. Good programming.

I love the CZ´s sounding. I have a CZ5000 and love its retro and dark sound. What a pitty that only has 32 user memories, that is not enough for this great synth.

This is amazing!!! I never had idea that phase distortion(or any kind of frequency modulation) could sound THIS beautiful!!! I have listened this 100 times already. In fact I got obsessed about Phase Distortion and cannot wait to see what Casio is releasing in NAMM in 7 days. 7 loooong days and 7 sleepless nights. If its a new Phase Distortion synth, I might go crazy. Many thanks for an obsession! Another video worth checking for: CASIO CZ-5000 Sound & Sequence 2

I have both Casio CZ101 and Moog Prodigy; they do not sound the same. Though they are both very good synthesizers.

@varoennauraa Thank You! Phase Distortion is simple but cool synthesis - structure more like analog and You can get analog tape of sounds, that You can,t get from frequency modulation. But Yamaha DX7 is too cool synth in other way.

In 1985 I bought my first CZ-5000 I had to trade it in because it kept having issues where the sound would go from normal to off key. There was some kind of issue. Now my gear is all Roland & Yamaha, but I wish there was some casio sound module or small keyboard with synth sounds that I had in the CZ-5000. Do any of you have any idea's?

Former longtime Chee-Z 101 owner. There was always an appeal to making this thing sound special, but it never does. ;-)
