Please I have been searching so much !in the box of this calculator it was written this calculator displays expression same as textbook. What does that mean ? Does it mean it answers an expression step by step like we do in the textbook ? If yes, how then ??

I means that it displays expressions as you would write them down on paper. If you used a cheap calculator, you would not be able to do this.

Bit late but you take -1 over so it becomes 1. Divide both sides by 2 to get X alone. Answer will be ½
