I’m glad you like it, Tim! The pros outweigh the cons. That’s weird that you’re still getting some notifications. Maybe toggle the notifications on and off again with additionally turning off the sound and vibration from the same screen.

It's a great looiing watch. I don't need a fitness watch per se but I wanted something with an MIP display after I sold my RangeMan. I settled on the GBD 200. Very happy with it.

I think it’s the best for the money. I paid around $225. Not bad considering my other Casio smartwatch was +$300 and it crapped out on me a week ago (had it for 6 yrs). I like the G-Shock dna in this one. Have a great week.

This is a fantastic tool! And the strap fits! Not sure why they gave it a plastic buckle though. I love the display and the features too! I think I need a fitness watch as well. That should help with me knowing where I stand during the day! The charge intervals is fantastic. My previous smartwatch had about three days worth of use before charge. Those notifications are why I threw my previous smartwatch away. I hear yo on the running hahaha! Have a blessed day Bro!

I am struggling with the whole idea of tracking fitness. Do I need a fittness tracker? I have been running since 1978. I get out every morning with my ACD/heeler and run, then do a light home weight workout. All without tracking it electronically, without writing it on a log book, etc. My body tells me to take a day off or run longer. (I have the fittest ACD/heeler within 500 miles). I can't see me suddenly needing a fitness tracker. Am I missing something?

I’m in the exact spot. I know I’m moving during the day. I wear it for the ABC (compass mostly) for outdoor info, sleep tracking and the heart rate monitor option if I want to see where I’m at. I’ll take a G-Shock over the other brands for when I need it for outdoors. The battery is awesome.

Very cool. It’s way too big for my wrist though. So I’m going say something a bit controversial. I feel if you need a watch for health, fitness, etc. you should just go ahead and wear a Smart Watch. I have nothing against them. They’re brilliant pieces of tech so if you need the tech, why not wear the best version out there. Again that’s just me. And I’m the guy who only wore an Apple Watch for years until I started collecting a few years ago. Thanks for the great review!

Casio is late to the game of Fitness/smart watch. For ruggedness, features, user-friendliness, connectivity I would choose Garmin of the similar price bracket over G-Shock. Like the smart watch features on paper but feel the burden of the need to wearing it all the time to reap the full benefits of health reading status, while also need to take off to charge using proprietary charging cable. My Garmin Instinct 1 solar which was my first proper and expensive fitness/smart watch is malfunctioning for almost a year now - always auto off. Seems to be the common issue among the model. So it is useless now. Anyway, sooner or later it will be obsolete when there’s newer version coming out or when the (irreplaceable?) battery is dead and not supported by latest apps.

i wish they didnt push the fitness crap on every single watch out there. talking to garmin too. why cant they just release a proper standalone (without smartphone !!) watch with gps functionality (basic, not maps, even just points and basic directions like the garmin instinct 2) and full solar capability (not including gps battery drain of course) ? the gpr b1000 was the closest we ever got, and of course it was discontinued..

I bought this watch brand new at full price, and while I like how it looks, everything else about it sucks. 6 weeks later I bought an Amazfit t rex pro, which I just upgraded now to a T Rex 3, and that watch is everything this watch is not. The solar battery topup/charging? Doesn't work. Sleep tracking? Doesn't work. Notifications from phone? Keeps losing connection. Sync with Fit/Apple Health/Strava etc? applies to specific workouts only, 'synced' manually one by one. Screen layouts only 4 to choose from. At this price it should have a layout for every gshock ever made. GPS? Can't get a fix for at least a minute. Overall, it's a piece of crap. Also, Casio UK has these at like half off in their outlet sale right now.
