Sounds glorious, and wonderful composition! I love the pre-1985 vintage Casios and Casiotones for their warmth and retro sounds

My first proper keyboard bought with my pocket money from mum's mail order catalogue in March 1986. I had started out using my uncle's little Casio VL-Tone before this in 1985. After I while I connected two home stereo recorders together, to bounce recordings while overdubbing new tracks at the same time. Still got those recording today, and one or two helped me to achieve good grades at school and a shining end of term report.

Nice. I went back to some of my old tape recordings a while back and wished I hadn't. :D A lot fewer gems in there than I thought at the time...

@@alfonsemusic Same here lol, but a few decent ones to show progress made. The big breakthrough instrument for me was Yamaha PSS790 and then Yamaha SY55 + Kawai K1r was start of my pro gear.

👏 I’m sold. ❤ just bought one on eBay for 30+10 quid, whoohoo (hope it works as they promise). You playing with the equalizer in the beginning, as well as writing this nostalgic melody totally convinced me. Thank you :-)

Bought one of these recently and fixed/cleaned it up; what a tank, this thing is big lol. I love it, the eight voices of polyphony is a treat and with the EQ + Sustain or "Reverb" you can get some wild pads out of it. I personally love warping the sounds of the Trumpet, Accordian, and Celesta with the EQ, and putting this bad boy through a delay or two is a delight. Chord mode is fun too, and the cheesy drums are surprisingly versatile. A great old Casiotone, maybe one of the best.

i always loved bass notes on patches like clarinet on these old fm synths! it almost feels like the whole synth is going to rattle apart when using the internal speaker

Of course they were the epitome of pro equipment but still your song by itself somehow reminds of the later Kajagoogoo. I even remember when MT100 was displayed in shop windows in the mid 80s.Those "mysterious" sliders have initiated an extreme must-have factor.
@EgoShredder10 ай бұрын
Haha! Yes those sliders lured me in too, while admiring it in a local Tandy Radioshack store in my hometown in 1986.

How did you get your nickname?@@EgoShredder Is there a serious background?
@EgoShredder10 ай бұрын
@@Gerald_Daniel I just create alias names to use online, but I never put any conscious thought into them, I just let them pop into my head naturally. The EgoShredder name I made in the year 2000. I got a lot of supportive comments on it for the first 16 years or so and then suddenly it changed, and I got a few nasty comments since then. Probably coincides with how people online and IRL have changed around that time for the worse. I blame social media like Facebook and Twitter for turning everyone into wild animals with polarised opinions, and not allowing others to have different ones etc.

@@EgoShredder I like the nickname and find it amusing. Yes, it's partly incomprehensive how social platforms are used to "say" things the most wouldn't have the guts to say to the mobbed person in real life. Don't they realize that a shot like that can only backfire? Recently, users on yt have also been quite arrogant and cheeky to me when I (an experienced OB user) just wrote that the behringer UBXa shines less bright than the real one, what besides everyone can hear through Starscy Carr's comparison video. Instead of just accepting an opinion the "discussions" with me endlessly went on & on... When the creator, who I praised with the comment "It almost makes one forget that the original sounds much brighter," hadn't even let pass thru my latest response to an insult like "not the brightest candle on the cake?!" there was no other choice than to delete a basically positive comment (that even was pinned) to remove the complete path of crap. Just yesterday it happened with another channel creator that improves sound of synths (by exchanging parts) that he deleted a nice & thankful answer from me in that just one sentence was mentioned casually that I improved the not very good sound (instead of exchanging parts) with the internal EQ, shaping and VCA Feedback param. Since I "knew" him, I've never questioned his method but praised it like never had anyone done it before. Honestly? That's sick. Or another creator deletes an answer just because its long. Don't they realize that they mess with intellectual property & hurt feelings? On social platforms one is none but digital data to support vanity. Anything that deviates just a tiny bit from that is obviously worthless.

@@Gerald_Daniel Indeed! I've lost count of how many times people have told me to kill myself, when I am merely interested in getting to the very root of an issue. I never set out to be right or wrong, I just have a natural curiosity and perhaps slight autistic OCD for getting the correct information on any given thing or issue. As for music and hardware, well.... this does bring out some OTT claims and opinions. Can be very entertaining at times, but we have all been guilty of similar at times including myself. 😁

hi there, do you think 50 euros is a good price to buy plz ? thx
@alfonsemusic15 күн бұрын
I don't really know prices in Europe, but comparing to UK prices I would say that's about right. You might get lucky and find one for less, but I wouldn't pay more than £60 (€70).

@@alfonsemusic oh hi thanks a lot for your answer, the keyboard has no power supply and the on-off knob is missing :(
@alfonsemusic14 күн бұрын
@@cusoonmyfriend3738 The old keyboards I've bought don't always come with a power supply. I bought a universal adapter a few years ago that serves me well in that situation (different plug options and voltage settings). Missing knob is a shame - if that's the only thing wrong with it, it might still be worth it, although if it was me I'd probably hold out to find a complete one.
