Can I ask why the sound of this casio px 5s is much more natural and warm without brilliance exageration than the casio px s 1000 even though the sound system is the same? mutidimensioal morphing air...maybe it s only in this video

The only thing I don't like about this demo is that it's not longer. Really put this board's piano samples up against similarly priced Kawai, Yamaha, Korg and Roland a show it's not all hype. The Kawai es100 sounds like the piano that competes well w/Casio's acoustic pianos. I'd really like to see a side by side sound demo of the a/p's of es100 w/the px5s.

How do I capture the audio of the instrument, cleanly and clearly like this video?

spada60 I got my stuff mixed up sorry u know it happens. What I was trying to say at that point. Was I couldn't understand why roland was charging so much for the roland rd 300nx didn't feel the action matched up. At the time before the price drop the 300nx was over 2000 way over priced if you ask me. But I am pursuing a roland rd 700nx amazing board. As far as casio hats off the last few years with their privia line they have stepped it up big time.

I have 2 Yamaha CP300's. I just bought the Casio PX 5S, and am waiting for delivery. I just am tired of hauling those monsters to my DP gigs, as the CP300 weighs in at over 100# in the hard case. The Casio is 24#. I will hook both instruments through my studio at home, and do a side by side comparison, with a flat EQ. I hope the Casio lives up to it's hype, and it stands up against the Yamaha in sound and feel. If not, I will be returning it to Guitar Center.

So??? Did you try and compare PX-5S with CP300? What was your impressions? How is the sound? How is the keyboard? What can you say?
@MrPianodueler110 жыл бұрын
***** I was very disappointed with both the sound and feel of the Casio. The temperment section of the register was mid rangy and unpleasant, the highs were piercing, the action was unconvincing, and the sensation of the "natural ivory" feel of the keyboard had a feeling like there was dust and grime under my fingers. The controls were counter instinctive, and difficult to use. I returned it to Guitar Center that day, as I was convinced that I would continue to use the CP 300, for which I have found no substitute.

Richard Cooper Oh… Thank you for your feedback. It's good to know different opinions. And the best way to try myself, but I don't have this opportunity. Only to order and pay in advance. I also looking now on KAWAI MP7.

***** I think you play YAMAHA is Better for you. because this is not sampling from real YAMAHA Grand Piano like any CP but this is sampling from Steinway Grand Piano. and had you've got to try a real grand piano of two this brands or not.?

Richard Cooper My "monster" is the 71 pound Kawai MP11. I suppose a case will add those 30 pounds. Astounding. It stays at home. For gigs (taking mass transit, to boot, for part of the time), I'm going to try the PX5S. I don't expect MP11 sound or action, but it's one third of the weight. I can't think of any competition.

I love the sound of this board! Think folks Korg great sounds keybed problems. Yamaha and Roland great sounds as well but $$$$. I'll say for the money best board. Tons better then the Korg kross. Yamaha p series good but for the money can't beat this. Does more then the new p-255. Roland even said they put the keybed of the roland rd 300nx in the new rd 800 that's a step down. 700nx had wood keys with ivory. And its still over $2000 with the rd 300 action? C'mon man!
@spada609 жыл бұрын
Get ur facts straight mon. The rd800 has a new improved keybed from the 700nx. It does not have the rd300nx keybed. Secondly casio has a nice kebbed but does not even come close to the rd800. I have both instruments so I know, U get what u pay for and yes casio does give u lots for the price but let's get real mon the piano sounds and keyed feel on the rd800 are high end. Casio is in a way lower league than Roland & Yamaha. Even the P105 IMO has a better piano sound but that's subjective when comparing similar league digi pianos

nice play... but sorry, as for me, the piano sound is not natural at all. Nevertheless, i have to admit that Casio show us signs of progress with its sound.

Maybe you are deaf. A lot of people already admit, that Piano sound from the Casio PX-5S is one of the best and natural they've ever heard from the digital stage piano. And I agree with them. I listen this video, and piano sound is amazing. And for your information: there're a lot of different acoustic pianos with different character of sound. So, one will be different from other. So please, try to get rid of your own preconceptions and stereotypes about CASIO. YAMAHA, Roland etc. should learn from this Casio PX-5S, what does it mean piano sound and quality/features for this price.
@mysterio197211 жыл бұрын
***** Hi Oleg. I'm not deaf at all! you can rest easy with my ears ;) First of all, this is my own opinion, only based uppon what I (and not others) was listening here: a compressed you tube video... not in "live" situation. maybe my mind would have been different... Secondly: I know that there are several piano styles, with different kinds of sounds, but thanks for my information. Last but but not least, Casio has NEVER been critisized freely by me. On the contrary, i highlighted the progresses they made last years. Anyway, each person should have its own judgment. I respect your mind, try to respect mine. With all my respect. greetings.

It's natural, but the samples sound like they were taken too close to the strings and the sound development side on casio failed to polish the algorithm that allows the key velocities to grow smoothly and not a concave curve
