Casio PX-5S vs Yamaha MODX: Sound vs Sound COMPARISON!!

Eu tenho um px5s dá Casio e realmente é um piano muito bom...mas eu uso os pianos da Yamaha nele como controlador.....agora questão de piano vai muito do gosto da pessoa....mas para mim qualquer um dos dois atendem muito bem!

As a student, I worked for Casio keyboards as a demonstrator. It was the time when the DX7 came out. I feel still a bit connected to the company, but even then, I realized that Yamaha was a leader. Although the Casio CZ 5000 (phase-distortion synthesis) and later the FZ 1 (sampler) were great sounding instruments, Casio never could catch up. Here, despite using a good headphone, the Casio piano sounds a bit lifeless to me whereas the Yamaha CFX samples (and other piano samples in the MODX) have a very lively character to them. Not to mention the other great sound-capabilities (incl. 8-operator FM-synthesis) as well as the quasi-arranger-keyboard-function of the great built-in arpeggiator make the MODX (MODX8 for pianists because of the better keybed) to my opinion the number one keyboard for the normal (that means +/- not so wealthy) gigging musician.

Parabéns pelo seu trabalho , só que a diferença de preço é muito grande, comprei um PX5 S hoje por R$ 4.673,20 a minha intenção é estudar piano e o MODX 8 varia de 13.800.00 a mais de 18.000.00, aqui no Brasil temos que ponderar o valor absurdo de alguns teclados.

Pois é, comparação desonesta, msm assim o Casio se saí bem, levando em conta a diferença absurda de preço e categorias diferente.

Oh, my god! It's my stuff right now! And I love both them. Modx sounds much more detail and modern. But Casio doesn't look bad in piano and Epianos. Strings, brass, bass woods very poor in Casio.

Penso, ser uma pretensão descabida, comparar Casio com Yamaha, sem querer depreciar a Casio. Há que se comparar os recursos de cada uma, e não somente os sons.

Casio sounds more distinguished in its sounds the yamaha... Sounds too bright to my liking... Not like the older yamaha keys I'm used to hearing, That means Casio catching on

These aren't acoustic pianos. If you don't like the MODX trebles, attenuate them in the keyboard. If your MODX isn't cutting through the mix on a stage with band members, boost trebles in the keyboard. Workstations have always been that way, they include EQ effects and much more so you tailor the sound to your liking or situation. Same applies to Krome EX, Kross, and Nautilus, or the Roland Junos and Fantoms. PX5S is also customizable like that, if I am not mistaken.
