Great review mate, I'm quite the experienced pianist but know nothing about digital pianos and had to get one for my younger siblings. I came back to say that your review was what urged me to get the PX-770 (about a month ago) and I hadn't regretted it one bit, everything about this review is spot on.

Hi great review! I'm a beginner player and want to buy my first digital piano. I've heard some newer privia (pxs1000)pianos had problems with the weight of the black keys. Do you think the black keys in the px770 feel lighter than the white ones? Also what do you think about the sustain pedal? Does it feels short in duration or it feels fine? thanks

all were fine for me but its pretty subjective. Did you end up getting a privia?

Hello, my mother is planning to get this piano for my younger brother but we can’t find it anywhere for $1000 only $1300. We live in Sydney so if you could tell us where you got it from that would be a great help. Also what do you think about the Casio privia 870. I liked your review as it practically showed some of the features of the piano.

Great review! Are you using px-770 as a midi-keyboard? If so, are you connecting it to your MacBook using “usb-b to usb-a connector”?

Yes exactly - although you may need a USB C to A adapter for newer macbooks

Hey! I'm currently a grade 1 player and wanted to upgrade my keyboard and buy a digital piano. And I wanted it to stay with me for a few years because I can't afford to change it with another one when I advance more. Will this piano also suite intermediate and advanced players? I love your review btw! Thank you in advance!! 😊
@PedalScience4 жыл бұрын
nour alhassan hi, thanks for your comment - I see no reason why this won't suit intermediate and advanced players. The action on it is very good and the keys are built to last, and it sounds great. The law of diminishing returns comes into play quite quickly once you go beyond this price bracket; ie you could spend twice as much just for more sounds and slightly better speakers but the same action and materials.

Nice review ! Ive finally decided to get a digital piano mainly for the same reasons. 1. to learn the piano and 2. to use it as a midi controller for Kontakt Libraries and other synths. While this seems like a great keyboard would you happen to know how it fares against the Korg B2SP? i just cant make the choice. Also does the included pedal support half pedaling? Thanks in advance!
@PedalScience2 жыл бұрын
The triple pedal with the PX770 supports half pedaling, pretty sure the regular Korg B2 included pedal is just an on/off but looks like the SP would be a proper set of three. The PX770 is much better in terms of keybed / action though, IMO.

@@PedalScience Alright thanks for the reply. I think i will go with the 770 then.
@curtisharris41633 жыл бұрын
Awesome review man, thinking about pulling the trigger, but I was wondering one thing. I know it works as a midi controller, but can you also use it as an audio interface so that the midi sounds come from the pianos speakers like the korg b2? Kind of a deal breaker for me!
@PedalScience3 жыл бұрын
Possibly but i don't think so.

I'm just a beginner who's just learning about equipment. You mention you have sound apps that produce better sounds than the onboard ones? So when you interface your piano with the app and play those external sounds, where does the sound come out of?
@PedalScience3 жыл бұрын
'Sound apps' are often referred to as 'VST's or 'virtual instruments' such as Pianoteq or Kontakt; which you would normally use within a DAW (recording software). The piano controls these and the sound comes from your computer speakers / headphones.

Hi! I'm planning on getting this piano tomorrow but I'm still considering the PX-S1000 because of portability. There's no way this one can be taken out from there, right? For transporting purposes and and such.

Uriel Chavira Tapia I wouldn't say it's portable but the main keyboard part can be removed from the wooden bench quite easily.

@Uriel Me too I am confused whether to get this piano or the PX-S1000, because the PX-S1000 seems better because it has bluetooth connectivity and it can be moved from place to place easily . Have you tried both , which one do you think is better?
@PedalScience4 жыл бұрын
nour alhassan not sure if you were asking me but just wondering what do you plan on using the Bluetooth for? In any case, I would answer that if you are looking to play gigs (outside of home) then the s1000 is worth it but otherwise the 770 is a better buy in my opinion.

@@PedalScience oh ok. Thing is I have been researching alot on this particular issue as I faced this problem alot. From my knowledge, I got to know that a keybed needs a triple sensor to generate proper midi output and the PX770 certainly has that but my question is, is a triple sensor all that is required for getting proper midi output ? If so then why would a person buy a high end piano i.e kawai VPC1 when they can get the same result with a Casio px770. If you could shed some light on this, it would be very greatful :)

Hi, first comment here. You said something about the audio output, that i didn't understand quiet well, about stereo and mono output...I'm looking for a digital piano, like this model, to learn well to play piano, and also to connect it to Logic Pro, and use some piano libraries, if i connect it to a daw, it's mono signal or stereo? it's that what you meant? Thanks in advance, and hey, nice review btw!!
@PedalScience4 жыл бұрын
You would use a USB cable to connect it to Logic Pro, and the piano library / plugin (ie Kontakt / Pianoteq etc) would have stereo audio, because you would be using the piano to send MIDI information to the computer (ie which note + velocity). The output I was referring to being mono is the onboard headphone / PA outputs on the piano, which is a pair of standard 1/4" jacks that carry the exact same audio signal regardless of which one you use.
