Really late comment here but thank you for this!! I didn’t even think about getting non-adhesive polarizing film to use. This is much better and eliminates chance of having bubbles under the film with the adhesive types of polarizing films. Thank you!

Nice mods! I love my AE-1200, and it's my favorite modded watch as well. I swapped out the amber LEDs for a blue one and a green one, but since that's all I did it looks stock until you light it up. Kind of a "sleeper" mod. I may get another one to do a screen inversion though, that always looks awesome.

@@Techsas Yeah it really does. I have two of these, one in black with black strap and the one you have with the SS band. I'm afraid I'd destroy the watch trying to do something like this, so all I did was swapped the bands between them. They both look so much better, especially the gray one with the black band. I'm thinking about doing the same thing with my AE-1000s.

I prefer the round shaped Casio watches but I learn a lot from these videos. I have some plans with a hand held computer and a Waveceptor which have faded LCD displays. It takes a year to collect tools and materials for a new hobby and meanwhile we can educate ourselves and get to know stuff which we should know before we destroy items and not after.

Hello, thank you for making this video. I really like how your watch turned out. I've been searching for about 3 months now for a polarizing filter like yours, but have not found it. I"ve ordered 2 types from 2 different suppliers and all of them were wrong. None of them turned my display green/yellow. By chance, do you know what type of polarizer film it is? Thank you.

Hey, I'll have to check out your Etsy store. Enjoyed the video although I'll have to work up to your level of creativity and skill. Especially liked the leather band treatment; that's first on my list! I agree about the NATO bands looking "meh". (Oh, and watch your digits with that "safety" razor blade, haha.) Swat Kats i used a scalpel to peel the original film off from a corner. Some force is required for peeling I must say. Then I bought a separate sheet of adhesive polarized film, get the right angle and cut the film to size. FYI

Hi, no. AE1200 lug is 18mm. Cutting into nato strap will destroy it.

My question is about the strap trimming you did. Was that because you wanted a larger overall strap width? If you had bought the perfect lug width strap (18mm?) would the rest of the strap also be 18mm, and look too flimsy? What was the full size of the actual strap you used because it looks great?

Hi, I wanted my strap to align with the bezels. In my experience 18mm straps look too skiny on Casio watches especially AE1200. So I used 24mm strap and trimmed it to fit the lug. Hope that answers you question :)

What size of leather strap are you putting in there? I've been using 18 mm nato on my 1200, but it looks a bit odd since the original band is tapered with 18mm lug. Looking to buy maybe a 22mm silicone or leather strap for it so I can cut it to size.

I see everything mate haha... It's very easy. The strap is held by spring bar, you can google how to do it's much easier than explaining. It's best to use the spring bar tool but its possible to do it with a flathead screwdriver.
