This is awesome! My parents gave my older sister this piano in the 80s or 90s. She never let me touch it. I’ve been wanting to finally learn to play the piano, and found this Casio at my parent’s house. It’s in great condition, as she rarely used it. I don’t think she understood its possibilities, and she won’t know that I’ve now adopted it 🥰

Thanks so much! Yeah there's the SK-100 which is quite similar to this one, and then there's the identical copy of the SK-100: the Hohner PK-60.

Really nice video. As a blind keyboard lover, I found that there are not a lot of samplers that are accessible that can play samples chromatically with polyphony. The Casio SK keyboards are probably what I'm looking for. Thank you for making me aware of these great keyboards. It's a shame that they are so rare and expensive however. 😀

Thanks a lot, I'm glad you liked the video! I agree, these are quite special. I recommend buying locally if possible because it's usually a lot cheaper than on Ebay or Reverb. I found out that Hohner has made basically identical copies of these for cheaper. I found a Hohner PK60, which is the same as Casio SK-100, and I paid about 30 dollars for it!

Would you recommend a Yamaha PS-20 or a Casio SK-1?

The SK-1 is a bit too limited for my taste, though it is definitely a handy little spice for creating authentic lo-fi decorations for your music. The PS-20 is completely different, but if you're a lover of the Beach House atmosphere I'd say go for the PS-20. It's a simple but beautiful cheesy instrument. It has a unique sound unlike anything else I've ever heard in the lo-fi range.

@@PixelNotesMusic Yeah, I was looking to get the PS-20. Seeing this made me rethink a little but the SK-2100 is a different machine. After checking some clips, the SK-1 Seems limited, yes. Thank you for your answer!
