A really addictive handheld game released by Casio back in 1983. Also comes with a basic calculator function built in.
The objective is to drive your car as quickly as possible while dodging traffic and adhering to the speed limit which is constantly changing. If you go over the speed limit for too long you will be arrested by police.
This game is very addictive and a true gem. The engine noise is quite cool for an LCD game and there is also a fuel meter which rapidly depletes but is replenished every 1,000 points. When changing lanes you also need to check your side mirrors to ensure you don't sideswipe a car you have overtaken.

It's unreal isn't it? They certainly don't make toys today like they used to and they're nowhere near as fun as the toys we had as kids. Turbo Drive is such a simple concept but alarmingly addictive! The changing speed limits and having to check your mirrors before steering give the game a lot of depth for such a simple-looking LCD game.

I have this game. The best handheld driving emulator game ever! Even nowdays. Back 80s, basically is the same Test Drive (Accolade)computer game concept.

I've been looking for what this was called for years, I had one back in 1984 and I swapped it for donkey kong iirc, I always regreted it! I need to buy one hehe thanks for uploading :)

I've seen the odd unit pop up on eBay here and there. Keep an eye out, they usually sell for around $80 or so, well worth it just for the nostalgia factor!
