I had the model with the dash dial for about 8 years and it was my most loved watch ever. I didn't used the alarm and the battery lasted the whole period of time without any signs of weakness. I love how the analog time is electronically driven and never run out of sync with the digital time, once properly set :)

Did you solve the issue? You may accidentally set the dual time as your normal time but the date doesn't refer to that!

All I am aware of is that you can turn the hourly signal off and on which you can find out about if you fast forward to the 3:33 part of the video. Otherwise, I don’t think that there is a mute function on this watch. Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA

Hi there! I am not sure if this is any help but when I was filming the review of the Casio AQ-230 featured, the buttons stopped working when I was changing the time on the analogue part of the watch. I ended up replacing the battery and everything started to work again. I am not sure if this will help you regarding the issue you have with your Casio but it might be worth a try.
