I didn’t see this until January 2024, after I bought an S500 in October 2023. This is a very useful tutorial. I love how the S500 is a synthesizer disguised as a mild-mannered home keyboard. I love how seamlessly it works via bluetooth as a wireless controller for the iPad. For under $400 you get a lot of useful features.

25:28 If the keybeds are "identical", then what is the actual purpose of the red "flet stripe" above the keys of the CT-S1? Isn't that a difference in quality (at least in terms of collecting less dust on the inside of the CT-S1 over the years)? Or has it just been added for cosmetical reasons (to simply look a bit more like a real grand piano)?

guys are you working on a CT S1 upgrade? I think could be a good time. Putting the same outputs of s500 + usb C and extra instruments made exclusively for it like the first version would be perfect. No even a lot of tones, just something like 10 percussion tones, 10 wind tones, 10 string tones...not much more, like 40, 60 at most, and still wouldn't need screen I think. Probs also modulation wheels like the rest. Also, a 76/88 keys version!! would compete with either piaggero or Alesis and Korg

Hello, thanks for the video and tutorial. I just received my cts500 and love it. Just curious, I noticed when going through the tones, some of them activate the "Advanced" tone light. I think it makes the tone sound better to me. But, it does not activate with any of the piano tones, specifically the Stage Piano. Is there a way to do that. Hope that makes sense.

On Christian Cullen's Casio CT-S1000V demo of her song RISE UP she has clear, "vocorderless" sounding vocal harmonies on that video. Were those presampled on this keyboard, saved and then triggered on-board by pressing the keys?... Were they being loaded and triggered via the included WUBT10 USB dongle?... Or were those backing tracks she failed to specify as NOT coming from her Casio?

This keyboard would be a great 2nd synth for my setup in connection to my workstation but it doesn't have classic MIDI IN/OUT ports which is a shame.

Or even 3.5mm TRS MIDI Out. Could use the expression pedal to control, e.g., the PX-5S. And hear the -5S thru the CT-S speakers.

A possible hack for Leslie speed control: Use all four slots in a registration bank for the same organ sound. Slots 1 and 3 have Leslie slow; 2 and 4 are fast. Use a pedal to cycle thru the 4 slots. You could try short push / long push to alternate between 2 adjacent slots, but that's too much for me to think about while playing :) Disclaimer: I have not tried this.

Some people are saying that the sounds in CTS1 and CTS500 sound very different with the internal speaker and line out，despite both have the same patches, same effect, same amp/speaker. They said CTS1 sounds warm/fat, CTS500 sounds brilliant and sometimes fatiguing. So is there a difference?

Im comparing the CT-S500 with the CT-S1000V and the biggest differences are the knobs (K1-K2 in the CTS500 and vocal type-portamento in the CTS1000V) and the Surround-Active DSP buttons in the CTS500 which are Lyrics-Instrument in the CTS1000V. Can i ask for an opinion and functionality of these?

I see that it's only possible to mix 2 sound maximum, as well as not possible to regulate the volume of style single track, right? It's only possible to regulate the sound's volume and effects of full style, as I can see. I'm talking about this because I'd decide between CT s500 and ct x3000

Hi again, I asked this question on the Introduction to the CT-S500 video (along with more comments). Does this come with the micro USB to USB cable? And how does this perform with 64 notes of polyphony? I am set to order a CT-S500 after watching this video and others, and much study as well.

It does not come with a USB Cable. In regards to the polyphony, no worries there you won't hear it reach the 64 voice limit.

I think you know it already, but just in case, they have now the Casio CT-S1 76 which is the 76 key version of the CT-S1, I'm not 100% sure baout it, but I imagine they are going to release Casio CT-S500 76 and CT-S1000V 76 too, because it seems only the case/body and the number of keys are different.

I went to the tutorial of the ctx series in your channel. It was a hawful experience it discourage me totaly to by one of ths ctx serie. The angle of the camera don't show well what they do. It is not at all the same tuto as yours. In the others it seems they have a train to take it's really really too fast. They hace lost me completely. Really many are saying the x serie is too complicate but with tutorial like this i can understand more why. They do not help at all the customer. And good for me that i see your video first. Your video is totaly the way a tutorial should be. So i won't buy a x serie... I'm maby thinking to buy the cts 500 or s1000v... But you should really think to say to your boss they loose customers buy puting a too complicate interface in other casio keyboard when many others are so easy to use. It's a pitty your keyborad seem really good but why? Why put this interface so complicate inside. I don't understand. I own a wk 7600since a very long time i was thinking you have change because i never i say never could use the sequenceur as i wanted who are inside since i bought it. I was hopping it change but yes only in the s series... I will try one on thi s serie maybe. But trust me i really hope you will change all your interface. It's too bad to kill so beautiful keybord for only the interface who date for too long.

The CT-S1000V has Vocal Synthesis. The "Auto Harmonizer" can be used in conjunction with Lyric tones.
