That solo guitar lick at 4:54 with the pause is a perfect example its pure will and perseverance personified. The little rag time solo is also incredible.
I found an old verbatim CD-R, which has my uncles name on it. It was scratched all to hell, but on it has the words "Casiopea". Which I thought was a misspelling of the constellation "Cassiopeia". Turns out it was this gem
Casiopea é uma banda de jazz fusion instrumental japonesa, formada em 1976 pelo guitarrista Issei Noro e pelo baixista Tetsuo Sakurai. Desde 1979, já gravaram 35 discos. Dentre suas canções famosas estão Asayake, Galactic Funk e Eyes of The Mind. Wikipédia
The little keyboard solo at the end is like pure Super Mario Kart stuff. These Japanese fusion bands like Casiopea and T-Square were a huge influence in all the VGM we know and love.

At 5:20, they do it, the crowd cheers. When my car does it, everyone is yelling for me to pull over.
Quando hai scritto questo commento potevo avere 6-7 anni, ma ti rispondo lo stesso Si, questa band e molti altri artisti jazz giapponese sono incredibili
Did Casiopea use a Yamaha GS1 on that track? Sounds totally ike it! GS1 rules!

Sasakis more complicated drumming wouldn't have fit in after the first two albums, and as you probably already knew, that's also why he left the band. Akira fits in a lot better into this particular Casiopea sound, which got them popular in Japan back in their heydays.
