Spot on. The receiver will have a black finish, so I'm thinking a black/grey g10 mix or carbon fiber. I'm a big crimson trace fan, and their master series g10 LG906 looks good. But carbon fiber is so classy... :) Cheers!

The slide will polished and acid etched after being fitted to a Caspian frame.

This pistol will not be finished for a while. I will send it off to a gunsmith and it may take a few years to come back. Then I will do a complete in depth review, including take down and reassembly. In the mean-time I will show some of the parts for it in other videos. Cheers

That g10 CT is a nice choice and would flow well with the slide, I think. I too like carbon fiber but g10 has a better matte feel to it, carbon fiber is very classy indeed but there is a plastic feel to it that I dislike. I'm sure whatever you decide on will be a good choice.

Is that wood grain like pattern there on purpose or is it just a result of the machining process and left there to be polished out?

I'll think about it. The last one was hard to do, writing through the view finder and all the focusing. Besides, I'd hate to be one of those people who just does the same thing over and over for views because they made one successful video. I like to keep things interesting. That said, I have been considering it. I just want to make sure it would be better than the original. We'll see.

the pattern is caused when steels of different hardness are folded repeatedly over and over again, typically producing thousands of different layers.
