Even if all debt were to be "forgiven" or more accurately written off, this would not solve Pakistan's economic problems. The country simply lives beyond its means. It can't feed itself, has incredible levels of corruption at all levels of society and is essentially run by the military, who have a huge economic stake. It's also because of the way the country was founded - muslim leaguers didn't have much organic support in present Pakistan territories (unionist party feudals were strong there) and middle Indian migrants only made up 10% of the population - concentrated in Karachi. The political elites sabotaged democracy because they realized they could not win elections in the new country. They started this 'technocratic rule' nonsense - which the military eventually took over.

As an Indian, I believe Pakistan will stay afloat no matter what. Though India has completely boycotted Pakistan at the moment, things can change quickly in geopolitics. Pakistan is a nuclear armed state, right on India’s border. India cannot afford to ignore that. China and Pakistan are and will actively try to sabotage India’s rise. India must focus on economic growth, population reduction ( focus in BIMARU states on priority) net zero carbon technologies, research and development, climate change resilient practice to safeguard our country’s future. Keep increasing the power differential with Pakistan - that’s one of the ways to curtail its destructive efforts in India. Do the same with China - catch up, catch up! Don’t celebrate minor victories ! Keep growing incessantly- that’s the need of the hour!

Look I will give you an advice, serious advice. The politicians and army generals in Pakistan are very cheap. Give them some money and they will even chant Jai Shree Ram. You have money, so use it to buy them out.

@@優さん-n7m I’m sure the Indian governments now and before would have definitely tried that out! Pakistani army generals maybe cheap, but they hate India! Why would they wage 4 wars with us and lose half their territory? Pakistan like india has deep sectarian fault lines, but what unites the country is Hindu and India hatred! India must grow non stop for the next twenty years minimum! That’s the only way we can dream of a better future! Although we want to wish away Pakistan, it won’t work out in the long run!

Fun fact: When pakistan suspended trade with India in 2019, they didn't technically stop buying Indian goods. Distributors in the UAE and Kenya(maybe others) just bought cheap Indian goods, slapped a fake sticker on it and sold it to Pakistan for an increased price.
