That's one of the things I love about her. Especially when compared to Vivienne, or Sera. My Inquisitor was a Mage, who allied with the Mages and didn't believe in the Maker, and yet she came to understand him, or at least respect his decisions, and they ended together.

Thats what I miss about mass effect, You can be with Liara for at least 2 whole games, and parts of ME2, the ending apartment party was good closure too.
