I love they werent afraid to do slapstick comedy with her. Most female villains don’t get hurt in battles but Casey gets nearly pulverised every fight and it’s always played well to her expressions.

They do get hurt, but is always done for the drama, punishment or to cause them trauma. In this case we are not exaclty laughting at her pain (because she gets up ready for battle again) or gender, but to the situations she gets into and exagerations she does. She kinda reminds me of Jessie of the Team Rocket.

I honestly think 2d animation suits characters like Casey Jones more than the 3d animated approach the 2012 tmnt took. There's just so much more character in her everyday movements that make it more and more obvious who this character is throughout the show. And the artstyle compliments her movements well by making them look much more expressive and bold than they would in any other style. I woild really like to see how other shows would do rebooted in this approach. Like Teen titans for example(the og one at least), it would fit both the artstyle and fluid animation of this show amazingly well!
