The one that works for everyone is the salmon color (the blacker the more orange-salmon you should use your conceler) that color cancels the black and doesn't allow the black to show, plus it will fusion with your skin color.

Esthetician here: I agree with everything you said here but I wanted to add something. After using loads of eye creams in my career, I have noticed that many spa eye creams do address specific eye concerns. They tend to be non-fragrance and lighter weight. They seem to absorb better and are less irritating to they eye area that my facial creams. Some people just have dryness under their eyes and a lighter weight cream can be helpful. I decided to go to the drs and take a blood test to see if I have any deficiencies or allergies that might contribute to my under eye darkness/ circles. Turns out I’m anaemic, have a few vitamin deficiencies and I have mild allergies. Once I started eating cleaner and avoiding foods that would agitate my skin, my UNDER EYE DARK CIRCLES / BAGS have IMPROVED!!! Yes I still have darkness under my eyes but it is MUCH better than it was before. Also I stopped smoking and have tried to sleep 8 hours.

Beside special treatments and eye-safe retinoids, I would also add one situation when a person would need a separate moisturiser for the eye area: oily skin. My skin is very oily (truly oily, it stays oily the whole year and the whole face, not just the t-zone) and the moisturisers I use for the face (water creams and lotions that are basically just hydrating agents) are simply not occlusive enough for the drier under-eye area. I need more fatty, occlusive ingredients for under eyes, so I use a different product there. However, I do not use creams that are marketed as eye creams, exactly for the reasons you stated in the video. I use face creams or sleeping packs that are intended for dry or dry to normal skin types. If it's in a jar, I scoop them over to a small travel box so that I only touch and expose to air and light a small amount at a time. They last forever as I only use a tiny bit.

Hello mam, At 4:33 you mention caffeine causes vasoconstriction. I'd humbly like to correct a little. Caffeine acts on vascular smooth muscle cells and after a short vasoconstriction effect, it causes significant vasodilatation. The under eye swelling or puffiness (non medically used term) is caused due to accumulation of tissue fluid aka lymph. Blood cannot temporarily seep out of capillaries and then go back in. So the effect of caffeine at the end is as you mention - depuffing, the process is entirely different. Caffeine dilates the blood vessels basically, so the lymph drains out faster than it otherwise would. Even if you don't apply caffeine, it would drain ultimately, but it will take time. Caffeine helps hasten the process a bit.

I often have clients asking about eye creams and treatments in my aesthetic laser clinic and then saying they decided to try something from the beauty counter first ... often just something an instagram model / KZbin makeup artist was paid to promote. And it never works for them and this video will explain to them why and what they can really go and look out for. Thanks you so much.

The under eye area is a very sensitive one that needs a special formulation, that's why they are very similar to regular moisturizers. They avoid the irritating ingredients such as some active ingredients or preservatives. Some face moisturizers are safe for the eye area but not all of them!!

Yeah, no. The skin is thinner, but it's not any more sensitive. And the fact is, they aren't actually formulating the eye creams all that differently then the rest of the face moisturizers. Maybe you shouldn't be putting acne treatments or retinol creams around your eyes, (because of the risk to your eyes) but you don't need a specially formulated eye cream when an average moisturizer would work just as well.
@EvgeniiaDolinenko4 жыл бұрын
@@korichamberlain3641 you do need a special eye cream if you have sensitive eyes. I guess you just never had such issues. And you are lucky. But if you have sensitive eyes, you will literally cry from an average eye cream, even a expensive one. It's not about the eye area, it's about the proximity to the eyes. The face cream from the same company does irritates my eyes if applied on the area around my eyes.
@iriscroatica59084 жыл бұрын
@@EvgeniiaDolinenko I agree. Also I can't believe everyone just generalizes this topic. You can't always put all face creams around your eyes. There are always exceptions. Wish someone would mention this , too. (Yes, she said "most" not "all", but still didn't address exceptions.)
@maisecatx73413 жыл бұрын
As as I want to agree with this whenever I stop using eye creams and use face moisturiser on my eye area I get milia or the area gets super dry. So if your eye cream helps then I would continue to use it. I recently tried the Niod fractionated eye serum and I must admit I can actually see a difference. When I finished it I used Cerave PM rather than spend again on the eye serum, but it caused dry patches so I'm back to eye creams. Guess it works for some people

I'm a Doctor, If I look at it from another view I could say that I'm glad they make under eye moisturizers because the one moisturizer I love on my face irritates my under eye area and don't moisturize it well, I use a hyaluronic acid gel for under eyes and my dryness problems are all gone. So the thing is, it's true around eye area is really a sensitive area and needs special formulas than those used for the face. Pricing issues are the same among all beauty products not jjust eye creams,so it depends on knowledge and personal preference. Lastly, I prefer those tiny bottles for eye creams bcuz no body really needs a big amount that will expire before finishing half of it because it's actually used on a small space.

Cassandra, I know you're probably really busy but I do have an inquiry that I really hope you can help with. Because of your videos, I decided to pick up the Ordinary zinc and niacinamide, along with the hylauronic acid. I have combo-acne prone skin and hylauronic acid has basically saved my skin over the past two years, but I still usually have one nasty pimple or two consistently somewhere in my face and the occasional breakout so that's why I decided to try the zinc and niacinamide. The first day after I patch tested just fine, I didn't prep my skin and just put the niacinamide and hylauronic acid on and my skin looked amazing for the rest of the day. I woke up with some surfaced whiteheads, but that's fairly normal for me in the mornings. Then on the second day, I did my normal prep in the shower and used toner and my electric cleansing brush with a cleanser. Unfortunately, my regular face cleanser was out of stock so for a while I had been using the dove pomegranate and lemon verbena body wash (I'm sure it's awful for the skin but I didn't break out from it and it was the only thing I had on hand). I got out of the shower fresh faced and immediately put on the zinc and niacinamide and waited a few minutes to put the hylauronic acid on. Before those couple minutes could even pass, things were going really wrong. My face completely flushed immediately and started burning. I was bright red and was watching as my face was tightening as if I had some sort of peel off mask on and hundreds of tiny whiteheads rose up to the surface. Obviously not having a great reaction, I washed it off immediately but the feeling continued and over the hours, my skin became extremely dry and was visibily peeling all over the place. It took me days to finally calm my skin down and get rid of all the whiteheads and redness. I'm honestly not sure if the body wash mixed and created niacin and I had a bad reaction or if I just didn't have an intense reaction to the niacinamide before because my skin wasn't as clean and freshly exfoliated. Either way, I looked online to see that many MANY people had similar reactions with burning and redness especially. It felt much more than just a skin purge to me and happened scarily quickly. Do you know if that sounds more like some kind of allergic reaction possibly or if it somehow mixed with the Dove body wash and created a harmful chemical? Can skin purges feel that awful?
@Pic14914 жыл бұрын
I don't know if my experience helps....but here it goes: - I tried once the squalane oil from the ordinary and it gave me millia which looks like tiny white bumps and my face looked very old as well. I was able to get rid of it after a few days by not using the oil and after I used a retinol cream. I also used another product of the ordinary (don't remember which one exactly) and it made my face red and itchy for an hour or so. I stopped using the product and my face recovered. Bottom line is I no longer use any Ordinary product.....it might be good for others, but my face does not tolerate them
@jazzjohnson55684 жыл бұрын
Skin purges shouldn’t feel like that. Honestly, I think it was the combination of the products, but everyone’s skin is different. I would say the Dove has a high level of fragrance and that probably didn’t help the inflammation. Some individuals are sensitive to zinc so that could also be a potential.
@ceuti4 жыл бұрын
@@Pic1491 Yes! Mine looked similar to what you described. Not Millia exactly but definitely more on the pustule side but very small and plenty. I didn't particularly look old but my skin stretched and felt like a mask and then eventually started flaking. It sucks that some of us go through that :( I've never experienced it before until the Ordinary and every skincare person online acts like it's a godsend

@@jazzjohnson5568 Yeah that's what I figured. I was ready for a skin purge but I could tell I was almost going through some sort of allergic reaction/chemical burn. I just find it odd how many people I've come across who have reacted to it so severely but majority of people seem to love and praise it...but maybe that's mostly the skincare people who get paid by the company and their followers

Creams can kinda slow the ageing process down. But they aren't a miracle pill that you take one time and you're go to go. Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid creams have to be used everyday. You can't stop using them and hope those fine wrinkles won't come back. Because if you stop using them those fine wrinkles will come back. And the Retinol products prescribed by a doctor are much stronger than those in over the counter moisturising creams. The over the counter stuff takes a lot longer before you see any results...... ☮️⚛️👀🌏
