Been listening to this non-stop for more than 18 months now and can’t believe it only has 50,000 views on YT. One of the most beautiful songs of the last decade.

This track was the only thing I heard on my morning and afternoon work commute. That opening crushed me every time. “All I want is to fall apart in the arms of someone entirely strange to me…” holy fuck. I guess I do have feeeeeelings.

This track is achingly exquisite and sentimental, tinged ever so slightly with forlorn. Cassandra, I love how you're adding more instrumental details, namely saxophones, flutes and various guitars carrying different timbres and textures, to your music, all of which have been judiciously arranged to construct some of the most cathartic and melodious compositions. They make your music more impactful, emotional and heartfelt, and the intentionally hushed way that you have chosen to deliver your lyrics makes them almost like a soothing balm, working gently on the soul. It's painfully apparent that the underlying experiences and process of writing this music must have had some heft on you, something which must have translated into such sublime music. I have been listening to your earlier releases, and this album's recent releases feel markedly different in the level of thought, richness and depth; your music now feels natural and intimate. I have never made my way over to bandcamp to make a track purchase as eagerly as I did for "Crosshairs" after my second listen. Oh what magic and peace that this track is capable of conveying with a decent pair of earphones. I love this track as much as "Hard Drive" among the three tracks you have released so far. They really help take the edge off difficult days: the two tracks are like deep, warm hugs that I, or arguably anyone, would look forward to having each day. Thank you so much for the music, and I wish you well!

Well said. The songs on this album were greatly influenced by the death of David Berman, who died shortly before Cassandra was about to tour with him.

@@viachicago It must have been a rude shock for her to learn that her dreams of associating herself with something that she has looked forward to so much for so long would be dashed in an instant. I do feel for her. Thanks for sharing man

Sailors and Soldiers monument, nice spot in Riverside Park. Kind of funny though you can see your drone pilot on the staircase behind you but that's okay.. Afternoon a day after it snowed... probably filmed on Friday the 18th 2020.

The video is captivating. Simple, sophisticated, meaningful, aesthetically coherent. In the times when music videos were a big thing, it would have been an instant classic. Only it's better. (OK, I'm playing it the tird time in a row).

BEAUTIFULLY MOVING. From "An Overview on Phenomenal Nature", my first Album of the Year 2021, which I'll buy on Bandcamp Friday, This song is beautiful, love the woozy jazzy feel, the falsetto contrasted to the spoken word, that flute @ 01:21 just breaks my heart. And what a lovely video, what Michelangelo Antonioni could have accomplished with a drone.

I generally ( I am a music lawyer) am very sceptical about any new feted artist since they seem to be totally derivative. I am delighted to say that we have a great new singer-songwriter here.
