I began to see all of the signs, but what helped me believe it was I started writing down the fruit, (behavior, interactions, tones, gestures, and facial expressions) these individuals would show me. I noticed a pattern. Writing it down helps because it can be easy to go back and forth with yourself because you may be shocked. I also paid attention to how I felt after having interactions with them. I did a slow fade and became less available until they stopped calling altogether, and we went our separate ways. In another scenario, I stepped away cold turkey, no explanation, because the disrespect was loud. If you can’t remove yourself from them, I would be as vague as possible about everything if they ask about you. Keep the conversation neutral. Never let them see what you’re up to, your experiences, or what’s on your heart. Conceal your mishaps and mistakes around them, not to appear perfect, but because it gives them joy, fuel, and something to run with. Even if it’s small.

This is why I stopped fooling with these so called ''friends'' because they turned out to be narcissist. The Jealousy, Envy, competition, lies/gossiping about me and one upping got old real quick. I cut them off and never looked back. I have peace in my life while they are experiencing karma. AMEN!!!!!!

I had no idea the power friends had to ruin my life until I was well into my 20’s. I tried my best to avoid making friends with fake people, but I accidentally missed red flags in 2 different friends, each at a different point in time. I learned the hard way after one friend turned on me while we were living together and put me in danger of going homeless. Then I learned again when the other friend tried to sabotage my marriage. She showed pretty much all the red flags for coveting a friend’s man that you listed in this video. You were literally describing her! After I was betrayed by that second friend, I learned to pay attention to my instincts and not to assume I’m overthinking or reading into things too much when I see subtle red flags. I now take new friendships slow, and I distance myself from people when they say things to me that don’t sit right.

Amen ! This has happened to me as well . My so called friend that call herself my sister kept telling me that I have a good husband and she said this more than once . One day I told her when she told it to me again that he (my husband) has a good wife !!! Also I told her what the word of God says about when a man finds a wife he finds a good and receives favor from the Lord !!! I no longer have a relationship with this so called friend/ sister because she was also always trying to one up on me and I decided to let the relationship fade out without any explanation why and she also didn't follow up with me as well 😊.

Yep, yep. Here's another angle. People like this will try to use YOU when they are trying to get to your circle. I had one young woman who KEPT asking me, EVERY TIME SHE SAW ME, how my girlfriend met her husband, where does he work, what does he do for a living, on and on. The last time she did it, I quietly dialed my friend's number and say, 'Ay. I'm here with X, she wants to know XY and Z about Luca.' When I called, my girlfriend was having company! ROFL! And had me on speaker phone, which is normal. But I had no idea her family was over! This chick standing next to me was mortified. And the hubs goes, 'What nut is asking all of this again?' Ahhhh, it was a moment! That was some years ago. But it goes down in my savage book of memories. You want info on her man? Let's get her on the phone, Jezebel. ROFL

Yep my new boundary is I’m not so fast to mix my friend groups or introduce my friends to my new friends. I don’t post my friends or tag on social media . And my future man will be imaginary to them . 😂. Just makes it easier to vet and distance if needed . I’ve had a few jealous friends get so mad they cannot infiltrate or exclude me , fixate when I do mention in passing I hung out with someone .

Trust me, you are not crazy for noticing those signs/behavior. First they want to befriend you or create some kind of association so they won't look ridiculous coming for a person they don't know personally. Mine started to like my social media posts, acting like she adores my craft. Then she purchased my products but I already felt like her intention was to make me feel like I'm her "servant" because after all, she is my customer. Then I've started to notice that suddenly she posts that she is obsessed in the things that I love to do. Whenever I post something good she ignores it but she copies my interests, the way that I speak, the way that I pose in photos. She even uses her daughters to make it look like she also loves the things that I'm passionate for. Then recently she nitpicks my clothing, and posts about how some successes aren't always what they seem. That was to invalidate me as a small business owner. They cannot hold it any longer, the digs will turn out into outright hostility. These people are hungry for drama. So I unfollowed her. Can't unfriend her right away because it's my business that is at risk. I usually take screenshots of receipts. Now, when I can sense that a person is jealous/envious of me, I IMMEDIATELY cut them off. They know exactly what they are doing. They are evil and sneaky. Don't show your social media pics, don't show your achievements to them. Change the social media setting so only the right people can see it. Don't feel guilty when it comes to protecting your peace.

I could write a book on this topic. When I listened to this all I could do is nod my head in agreement. I have had many friendships, female inlaws and coworkers who fit the bill. Signs they are trying to covet your spot are as follows, 1) They minic everything you do. Example, I bought a car in 2005 with a sunroof, and I promise you four people in my circle of people also bought cars with sunroofs 2) I was the only person with a daughter at the time and I found out these nasty chicks were talking to my child about me, bashing me and trying to turn her against me. 3) I had been invited by my sister in law to pilates class and I was so excited, I wanted her to like me so much and I felt that she was finally warming up to me, it turns out she was talking about me to the teacher and she only took me to embarrass me. I will never forget that, it hurt so bad. 4) Never share intimate details about your husband to your friends, this opens the door to envy, keep personal details to yourself. 5) Never travel with females. I was heartbroken to hear that story of the young lady being killed by her friends on that girls trip. I only travel with hubby, daughter or myself. I have good friend now, but just prefer to be with my crew. I have lived this too many times and the ladies in my life now who are friends I have no doubt love me, most importantly love GOD. We are happy for each other. My advice to you is drop them, it will lead to nothing but heartache if you continue in these toxic environments. I love being alone and my friends respect that and I love them for that.

@@vfree4579 I was able to handle the class and my sister in law was hoping I would not be able to hang, and when I did handle it fine, she looked disappointed, she was the one grunting and struggling not me. A little history, I mentioned before this that I was taking a pilates class on video and it was a good workout so I found it interesting she signed up for a pilates class herself.

The teacher put me on blast in the beginning by saying, a video is not the same as taking a class. My sis in law had been talking about me to her teacher. Know the toxic behavior signs and have boundaries. They can’t be trusted at all it doesn’t matter what kind of relationship it is. One of reason I dont deal with to many people. Dont tell ur business it will get used against you, they will gossip about you , and judgemental/controlling spirit. Life too short for drama and anything cost me my peace it to expensive. I recently experienced this with a coworker. Their manager assigned them to work with me and told me they had problems working with other people. Then said coworker had an introductory convo with me, telling me they didn’t intend to step on my toes. As time went on, found out she was badmouthing a teammate, amongst other bad vibes. I got the coworker removed from the team. But it has since caused some emotional drama. Coworker dragged another colleague I respected into it by playing the victim, and now I think that bridge is a bit burned. Which hurt, admittedly. But it became obvious this coworker was posturing to equate herself to my position and “win” favor with colleagues I had already been working with. It has surprisingly had an emotional toll on me, but at least the toxic coworker is removed from my team (and they claim that they are looking for other jobs, according to their manager).

Once you see it in someone you can’t unsee it you can be naive all you want it can be dangerous. Dealt with this many of times. I had someone go into nursing because I was going in that direction she wanted to be like me and I left that behind, then God Bless me with a husband from another country and we decided to travel the world then many got inspired but couldn’t do it on our level so they will try and get close to you to figure you out to set you up so they can become you they took our life as a form of secret competition when we was just living in our own world lol. Better have keen discernment to catch it quickly before things get out of control. How to navigate around it is close all doors! (form a weapon against it) around that person (s) it’s going to cost you many relationships but it must be done for your protection. Now you force them to live in their truth, which will later be an embarrassment on their end if you had many mutual ppl between you two and you completely went no contact.
