Great job with the butane and r/c conversion of the Wilesco. If you wanted to you could use Regner m6 to m5 adapter to install their check valve. The Wilesco boiler fittings should be m6 0.75 which is the same m6 Regner uses for its m6 to m5 reducer. That would let you pump water into the boiler under pressure with a water pump spray bottle. I did this on my Wilesco steam boat on my channel. You would probably loose the whistle unless you got some kind of t or cross fitting as I don't think there is a spare boiler fitting and you need the safety valve.
@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks2 күн бұрын
@@stevenj9414 you know, I’d definitely do that, but now that I have a servo operating the whistle I find the whistle golden. ☺️ I must go put your Wilesco steam boat on my watch next list…

Meh, you’re kind of cool. I like how the steering chains and linkage transmit all the way back so the steering wheel turns when the servo steers the front axle. Presumably there is no throttle? Can you jam it into neutral and reverse while it is running, like on your Shay? Does it even have a reverser? Oops, you said about the reverser right after I posted the comment.
@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks22 күн бұрын
@@northernutahlivesteam hahaha. You must be like me. I start writing comments as I watch so I don’t forget to mention something. The old analog RC that Wilesco used to provide for these engines was clunky and they removed the steering chains so the steering wheel would not move. Poo to that I say!
@DiscusRussell6 күн бұрын
Hi there. You have a Dynamo on the front so why not use that to recharge the batteries. Pure steam power 😊
@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks6 күн бұрын
@@DiscusRussell i have been considering this. I tested the load. The dynamo produces just enough power to turn the very low voltage LEDs on. The wattage is almost non-existent. And even then even lower when the engine is moving and not stationary because the belt adds resistance. This is a case proving that you can’t scale down physics. But great minds think alike. ☺️ It just proved impractical.
