Megaman is not a rip off of Casshern, Akira Kitamura the creator of Megaman got inspiration from many different robot shows like Astro boy, 8man, and Casshern but the differences between Casshern and Megaman is that Megaman can copy his enemy's ability but Casshern has super strength, speed, and agility and plus one is a video game character and one is a anime character.

That's right. And besides, its likely that Casshern was inspired by 8-Man, as they are both similar in concept and in story. Both are cyborg superheroes who had their essences transferred into robotic bodies, they both dedicate themselves to fighting evil, and coincidentally or not, Casshern shares 8-Man's name; Azuma.

Casshern Sins may be better animated but the story is somewhat lacking. The story of the original Casshan back in 1974 is more potent. It was also where Inafune got the inspiration to make Rockman which you know as Megaman. If you watch the original you'll see how heavily influenced Rockman and Rockman X is with the story.

@ghostrider2x3 No, there's no continuity between and of the Casshern series. The original is the original, this one, is an OVA( so just home video, no story line continuity). Sins is a reboot, ignoring Tetsuya existing, or Luna being his old friend. So no continuity, at all.

I think this might have been the first anime i ever saw. I think i was 6, so i can't remember the name anymore but i think it was Casshern/Casshan. I got the live action movie about half-year ago. it wasn't as bad as some movie translations

@SpartanLaser they watch it 'raw'. Just so you know, most censored anime - Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, for example - are not inteded for kids, but for teenagers and young adults. Kid animes are, for example, Pokémon, Digimon (to an extent) or Yu-Gi-Oh.

@SpartanLaser Currently they are censoring nudity and other suggestive sexual material. Other channels don't censor nudity. Violence isn't censored at all, kids can see the violence in all it's glory. Even cursing isn't censored.

how did it make sense? what was the point of finding lunas nanocell and then later on never mentioning what happend to it after ouji took it to try to find a cure, not even in the end does it ever follow up on it, it seems like the reboot was rushed after episode 20

the reboot had a MAJOR flaw at the end tho, they obtained a nanocell crystal of luna, but after ouji takes it ans parts with them to research it they mjeet up with him later and they all seem to forget about it

I actually prefer the name Casshern a lot more. The Japanese do pronounce it "Casshan," but that's because they don't really have a character to make up for the "ern" part. In English, though, I believe "Casshern" is 100x easier to say than "Casshan"

And also in the original, CASSHAN didn't work for Black King, and he was looked at as everyone's savior unlike that bullshit Madhouse made where he's looked at as an anti-hero and has supposedly "killed" Luna whereas he was her love interest in the original and this OVA.
