I guess maybe they turn off, at the start when the ci takes control, affecting anybody in the facility negatively (lower stamina, speed, naseau, etc) then the facility locks down and anybody still left in there will start dying because of the oxygen deprivation

I think it would be very cool if 079 could do this with full auxiliar power at Tier 4 or even a new tier 5 that gives it the ability to either force a draw by nuking both the underground facility and the surface zone or hack C.A.S.S.I.E to do this. It would also be cool if all SCP's (Except for SCP-939) could still roam the facility and they added an oxygen mask that can be found in entrance zone and surface zone that gives you limited oxygen that you can use to survive longer while the O2 is out, and you could recharge it with oxygen tanks that you can find, and people could use it to try and disable 079. The oxygen mask would run out faster if you sprint (Unless you drank a 207), you also cant use SCP-500, SCP-207 or anything that you need to ingest to use.

Imagine this only occurs when 079 reaches max level, and completes a set of objectives. It gives more incentive for 079 players to play the computer as optimally as possible while also punishing humans for taking too long to deal with the computer.

90 secs is not that much time to escape to the surface(unless it kills everyone) also the concept is weird cuz unless they pump out or suck out the oxygen, you could still breathe fine for a few mins or longer considering the size

Consider the following. Hacks sounds would’ve played long before and the timer does not officially start till long after they were alerted. anyways you said it yourself. It would probably be less oxygen than no oxygen. Then it wouldn’t be an instant kill more of they hold their breath for 30 seconds then they start taking damage from a fixation. When they’re holding their breath they do not have any stamina recharge

Unless they vent the oxygen thus wouldnt insta kill everyone or kill them quickly or like the gas eventually, oxygen would be lingering in the hallways and any space sure it'd eventually become carbon dioxide but that would be after hours of someone breathing a more realistic way would be venting the oxygen or maybe making the gas that sterilizes light, flood the whole facility

i have an idea where it is exactly this but instead of disabling oxygen to not breath it should also suck out oxygen because the size of the facility is big and disabling the oxygen would take a while for people to use it up.

Well tier 5 nuclear explosion now makes this kind of redundant although at the same time maybe at tier 4 it’s able to initiate a hack but is able to be countered by the SCP foundation for counter hack at a terminal.

It's the same window as alpha warhead but that's not even counting the time when you are first alerted about the hack which is 2:50, which gives 80 more seconds than alpha warhead so there's a pretty large window

I’m also thinking it wouldn’t be an instant death. It would just deal a sizable amount of damage. 30 seconds of your holding your breath so no stamina recharge and then you start taking one damage per second. The oxygen mask would stop damage from a fixie ation

How about it immediately disables oxygen and then after the time goes to 0 the facility locks down. Still not 100% realistic as someone would die at 240 seconds not 100 but this game isn't the most realistic one

Technically that would be good for heavy containment. Either chaos or computer reaches a terminal where they can drain the vet where 682 is kept then it breaks through a few containment walls which will take six minutes. Then depending on the vicinity everybody dies. either they were melted by the acid failsafe or they were torn apart. Entrance would be the only area in the facility which would be safe.
