this is gonna sound so wrong but i hope that in the series they show so much more of how her being in a relationship with Nate is literally destroying her and her mental health and IDK maybe Maddy will realise and help her because the difference between them is that Maddy can stand up for herself and has confidence, cassie has a low self esteem and needs attention. idk its not a good idea

He just idealized her like what he does with all the girls and then he saw she wasn't what he imagined. The diference between Cassie and Maddie is that Cassie created an obsession with Nate and he saw that he already had her in the palm of his hand, while Maddie can live without Nate and keep her self-esteem high, Narcissists hate it, they like to be adored and like to see people suffering for them.
