In terms of character development I'd give it to Alexa. Her not killing Nate or Cassie shows growth even her walking away after she fought Cassie shows growth because she was moving on from the abuse and not allowing it to further trigger and ruin her. Cassie is just the sad some pathetic girl that her mom and her sister call her out on. Her journey is sad but she's had no growth, it's shown in her clothing, color palette, behavior, basically everything about her and we've watched Maddy actually grow and want better for herself. Cassie doesn't it makes her a.one.dimensional victim

Cassie has so much more going on in her life, her dad was a drug addict and her moms a alcoholic. Cassie is broken and feels unworthy and her charter follows the consequences of her traumatic relationships with men. Cassie feels more like a main character to me personally than Maddy, and I think Cassie really carries the show. A character can be dimensional for positive or negative reasons and Cassie is dimensional in a very negative way.
