The video. The music. The integration of some of my favourite songs ever (sun, Saturn, venus, earth etc.) This is perfect. As an Astronomy enthusiast, the tribute to Saturn, the footage. The images from NASA. This is just the best. You're my all time favourite artist ryan. You're the best. Thanks for existing. Thanks for making this music. We love you.
@Fuar117 жыл бұрын
The beginning part sounds a lot like Saturn and Mercury mixed together. But I don't hear Venus or Earth. By 0:46 I don't recognize anything. That part should be extended into it's own track, it's so beautiful. And then obviously you have Saturn itself.

Fallen from the heavens to an unearthly earth Outside from home You found a home A grave as you gracefully fell To the planet you've gazed upon Embraced by the planet you lovingly faced Plummeting to Saturn, soon to die Fallen from the sky Spending your years dazed by her rings Spending your years gazing as she sings in the silence To cry tears of fire in the atmosphere As you leave to the ground Forever you will rest here In the peace and silent sound Of Saturn

@lunakid124 жыл бұрын
The probe is just the token, the real deal is the grand adventure, the epic, cathartic story (with all the subtle drama mingled into it), and the music makes it nicely visceral. A very good reason to cry.

Oh, good, I was worried I was going insane. But the whole thing is just fantastic. I actually found the song first, not the video, but the way Ryan writes his music...I could picture the entire thing straight away, and I didn't even KNOW about this until I found it! That just goes to show how well Ryan can bring emotion, adventure, and everything else into his music. He's truly amazing.

I'm still in awe over Cassini. Even the name is special. There is one video on youtube that shows Cassini bobbling along to it's final destination. I think there was a camera mounted. It bobbled sadly as it said "farewell, i did my best and gave my all". Still touching.

This song already holds a very special place in my heart for a while now, and then I just listened to the podcast episode about the making of this song, and now finally getting to watch the visual component of the song on the eve of the 3rd anniversary is...wow. I was already emotional about a space robot, but then something about seeing the people who helped bring Cassini to life, who launched her up into the stars... Like, people who worked on this mission named their *kids* after Cassini, and to know those kids were there, 20 years later, gathered together with the other engineers at the end of Cassini's journey. it's something else to think about how much this project meant to the people who made it happen. *And then* to have Cassini continue to send back information an extra *30 seconds longer* than expected must have been a truly incredible moment. I'm genuinely disappointed I didn't know about this incredible little probe until after she was gone.

This has made me so emotional. The images of the responsibles for this mission, their joy when things turned out fine. How such a conquest is seen as our victory as humanity, as if ourselves were personally involved on the mission. How some of these people have been working for decades in one project, giving their lives to humanity’s conquest. What makes me most emotional, I think, is how Cassini is a signal for something that we, as humans, have undoubtedly written deep in our souls, which is the desire to explore, the desire to know the infinity. We are always restless, always wanna take a next step, always desiring, as if there was a constant call from somewhere. I personally see this call for the infinity as a call that God himself put in our hearts. Saturn says: the universe was >made< just to been seen by my eyes. I can’t close my eyes to the very obvious intentionality that is in everything that exists. Our capacity to be awed and our desire for beautiful things let clear how our hearts desire things that are beyond what’s material, even if we try to fulfill this calling with our materialism. You don’t have to be too different from the others to notice that pleasure, power and possession can’t fill our hearts. And can’t deny how breathless a beautiful sight is, how it makes you heart almost sting when being struck by beauty. Beauty is useless, in a sense; animals clean themselves, birds preen, but they don’t know what they’re doing. Humans pursue and appreciate Beauty. How transcendent that is. I’m eternally grateful for Sleeping at Last (and my sister, who presented Saturn to me) for translating our wonder before life into music’s beauty, specially in the Space album.

Callie, you will always love someone and something, until the end of your life, you just need to adapt. Look at the half filled side of the glass, not at the empty one, at least you got to love someone. It doesn't need to be a two ways thing to be a good feeling. I guess you just need to find the courage and the will to be happy. Sorrow is as big as we allow it to be, or as my grandpa told me once when i wa spassing thru a stormy period...."Just leave yourself alone for a moment...."
