I met Don and Mikkey in Syracuse on the Ashes tour. Don signed a photograph I had where Don raced a car at LimeRock Park (in CT). It was good dialog.

Up from the ashes is a class album, Down in flames my favourite, the whole band sound fantastic, the only band member I wasn't familiar with when I bought the album back in the day was Billy White, what a shredder he is!!! great pairing with Norum. Cheers

So, now Don has to diss Mick Brown..? Why? Because Mick did an interview where he basically said he retired because it wasn’t worth it anymore. Yes, he has arthritis but what was killing him was not having a roadie. Setting up and breaking down your kit for every show is going to wear you out, especially if you have rheumatoid arthritis. Don wasn’t paying Mick enough. In fact, turns out Don was so cheap Mick didn’t play on the last 2 Dokken albums because Don wouldn’t fly him in from Az.

Thx for the vid...NO idea that Don actually HAD such a great relationship with the Up from the Ashes lineup 🤔 and actually "hung out" and were "friends", even! In particular, Mikkie Dee who IS definitely an AMAZING drummer 🥁! .... As I figured? It was just Don hiring on some AMAZING musicians for his "solo band album" and they had the contract, did their jobs and yeah, just went BACK on home (to ALL these DIFFERENT places in Europe 🌍). I mean, 🤔 for "practicality purposes", WHY and HOW on earth, is THAT gonna work?!? Can't even "practice", as a band Lol . Yeah, they ARE professionals though. 🤘🔥🤘
