this is so true. like highschool isnt just about the nerds and the jocks being losers or being perfect you know? like yeah a jock could be secretly gay, a wallflower might have really deep set emotional issues, a gay guy might be one of the best friends you can have, and the girl that seems so perfect has a sad history. Like that one group of friends that some people may just think "oh that group of losers that listens to classic rock and punk think they are so cool" theyre just being themselves

Stephen mentioning Dead Poet's Society, awesome. That is a great film that is still underrated. He knows what's up.

This movie is so real. And I, exactly like they said, found in this movie big part of myself. Actors are really good.

Stephen Chbosky is simply amazing. I love the book and I know I'll love the movie because even though I haven't seen it yet, just by going through some of the interviews of the cast I can tell that they really have a deep understanding of the characters and so it just seems like all Stephen did was bring the perfect people to breath life into the book. I am so glad that he is the director/writer. No one else would have done the book justice.

Those are some deep words. I totally understand your perspective on the whole emotional roller coater ride. The cliche of high school on tv really puts a lot of pressure for people or teens to live up to what they see on tv

***** First of all, her name is Nina... -_- Secondly, she didn't have the "smallest" role. There were more than a couple of scenes with her that were deleted (search for videos), in order to have more space and time for other scenes that were focusing on Logan Lerman (who's the leading actor). So, basically she IS one of the stars in the movie, not a walkon...

that's so true, about being like a real high school, it really bugs me watching some movies and looking at them going, wow I never remembered high school where everyone was 6 foot tall model and was somehow going through what seemed like a big issue, I think high school for me was a symbol of change, myself and my peers, the people you meet and the things your exposed to its like an emotional roller coaster ride, that being said I wouldn't go back though.

yeah it was a very cheesy/strereotypical setting but I think that's what they were going for because it really makes the main characters stand out against this bland typical high school background you know
