Thanks! I've listened to a few tracks here and there, but their music never really grabbed me. I've been in a very stubborn musical mood for the past 2 years...mostly listening to angry, disgusting black metal. and Virus. lots of Virus. For some reason, not much else seems to hit the spot.

Oleg Zalman i think is the closes band to match ulcerate apocalyptic feel their album mind cemeteries is mind blogging!!!!!!is unbelievable

Virus is fucking wonderful. Ever since I got into Ved Buens Ende whenever Written in Water's gets too repetitive for me I just listen to it. I've mostly been listening to Abyssal this week, G.D.C himself gave me some tabs to try and learn yesterday, having a lot of fun with it.

I'm kidding, Written in Waters is perfection, but so is Virus.

Hey man! I typed you name on Google and found your Instagram and saw you playing some Vi. That was sick! What tuning was that in? Looked like there were lots of 'big' chords going on, almost reminded me a bit of Castevet!
@noobsauce5 жыл бұрын
Yes! I find both bands to be very similar, especially when it comes to the guitar parts. VI stuff is tuned to drop D, just like Castevet. Both bands are still in constant rotation for me, just constant eargasms.
@omanousmacrospool48355 жыл бұрын
@@noobsauce Thanks! I like how they use giant chords in drop tunings to get two voices moving around on one guitar. There are probably more bands that use this though I can't think or more now. Maybe The Clearing Path, not sure.
@papayaldabaoth5 жыл бұрын
hey man, i'm a huge fan of your sound in AB and was wondering how you achieve so much chord clarity even with distortions?
@noobsauce5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! we usually ease up on the gain to keep some clarity. Also it helps with the spread of two guitar parts
@omanousmacrospool48356 жыл бұрын
That section from 1:07 is annoying! I`m not accustomed to barring off chords, good practice I guess. Incredible song though, thanks so much for the tabs!
@noobsauce6 жыл бұрын
Rob Murray That section is tricky for sure! I stumbled a lot there when figuring it out. Once you nail it though, it's extremely hypnotic to play through

Do your fingers naturally gravitate toward all these dissonant chords at this point?

Kinda. I try to get my fingers to do whatever my ear tells them to, and those are becoming more accustomed to dissonant chords.

I think they definitely bring interesting chords and theme development. Call me a fanboy, but again I think AB incorporates trem picking better than most bands. That stuff has been done and perfected in the 90s. Have you heard Kvist? kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIDTnndmibuDaLM&ab_channel=Kvist-Topic
@noobsauce Жыл бұрын
Yeah Kvist is awesome! Trem picking is just a means of generating sustain with ferocity, it can never get old unless the melodic structures behind the trem picking are stale. I haven't heard anything like Castevet before or after
@batardglouton5455 Жыл бұрын
@@noobsauce I went back and listened to the whole record, I take it back.
